This was another fantastic pick after perusing @Kaye ‘s reviews. Maggie was only 20 years old when she was murdered in 1982. Her case involves two strong suspects, so once the authors detailed the history of the case, they went through at the end with very clear bullet points as to the pros and cons of each suspect. Very fascinating, and I️ certainly came away with a clear picture of who I️ think the killer was.

Kaye @Reviewsbylola Good morning 🙂 I don‘t remember this as well as some but I remember thinking there were a few red flags about the boyfriend. I really like this writer. He just tells the details and sounds as though he wants these cases solved badly. He gives enough info to help the reader lean in one direction if possible. I think there‘s a good chance this was the boyfriend. 7y

Reviewsbylola The only other viable suspect was a self confessed serial killer that lived in the apartment underneath Maggie when she was killed. His confession had over 30 inaccuracies and everything he said that was correct was information he was given previously about the case. Her boyfriend definitely had a lot of red flags but I️ doubt he will ever be charged at this point. I️ definitely plan to read more from this author! @Kaye 7y

Reggie Omg, reading @Kaye‘s feed is like watching the ID channel. It‘s effen scary and makes you wonder if anybody is ever safe. Lol I love horror books, but those true crime novels are the real horror books. 7y

Kaye Thanks, Reggie. I don‘t know why True crime books never scare me , but I don‘t do fictional horror stories. They scare me worse. That‘s why I don‘t read many of them. Go figure 🙃. @Reggie (edited) 7y

Kaye @Reviewsbylola I feel like I need to read a bunch more now to keep a good list growing. After reading so many, it‘s harder to find ones I haven‘t read, or that sound as good. It seemed easier to find a larger assortment of true crime books back in the 80s and 90s. I‘m always on the lookout for new ones that sound good. 7y

Reviewsbylola I️ am picky about true crime because I️ feel like quite a bit of it is poorly written. I‘m always on the lookout for authors that are a cut above. Glad you introduced me to Blaine Pardoe because I️ really like him. Reading the Daisy Zick book now and can‘t put it down. @kaye 7y

Kaye I‘ll be interested to hear what you think of it. If you are looking for quality true crime writers, try Carlton Stowers ( Careless Whispers ). Darcy O Brien, Pete Earley( Circumstantial Evidence), Gregg Olsen, Jack Olsen,and if you haven‘t read Fatal Vision , The Dreams of Ada , And the Sea Will Tell, I‘d highly recommend those. Kaye @Reviewsbylola Well you actually hit one I haven‘t read. 😀 I have it but haven‘t read it. I have some stacked onto my kindle yet that I need to get to also. So thanks for the tip. I‘ll try sliding it up the stack a bit. I usually don‘t have a definite list to follow. I just pick and choose as the mood hits. That‘s why I try tossing in a memoir or something funny. 7y
