Devos‘s book lets you know that you don‘t have to stop being that person. A good many of us are freaks. What matters isn‘t that you stop being afraid a freak. It‘s that you stop caring that anyone else thinks that of you.
Devos understands this, and as her MC grows and changes, she helps the readers to understand, too.

I think I was expecting more of a romance or a few good story. But this was still interesting. How a woman navigated the world, before and after she lost weight, and how it reacted to her.

I liked this book. It was a relatable YA novel.

I really liked this quick read. Cookie is a girl who dealt with life as a cat girl; 2 years later she is thin, but life isn‘t better. I‘m glad this wasn‘t a fat-to-thin Cinderella story, and I like how things ended up with her men (I was gonna be so mad if things had gone differently!)

I know I‘ve said this multiple times, but oh how I wish there had been books like this when I was younger. As someone who has been on some sort of diet for the past 30 years, I can only imagine how my outlook on weight would have been different if I could have read a book like this as a teen. While this story is similar in some ways to Dumplin‘ and Puddin‘, it goes a step further by showing Cookie Vonn‘s life after losing the weight. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Over all, a solid YA with romantic elements.
