I didn't love this as much as the first book, but I still really liked it and I thought the ending was fitting, bittersweet as it is. Definitely for fans of Battle Royale and prefer their fairytale creatures bloodthirsty and crazy.

The second book in the duology is again, a very dark book with lots of cruel death & grotesque imagery. I read it because I wanted to know how the story ended, if Nessa managed to survive & what happened with her & Anto. Anto, now there's a big disappointment who betrays Nessa in the worst way. Overall, I'm wanted to read this duology but I'm in no rush to ever re-read it. 3⭐

The Invasion is the conclusion of The Call duology and a YA fantasy horror dystopian about a group of teens stuck in Ireland while the walls between fairy and our world fall. It is equally dark to The Call with scenes of violence and body horror. You can‘t help but cheer for Anto and Nessa as they fight for their love, freedom and the land they love. I found the ending to be an amazing conclusion to the entire story.
I loved the way this book wrapped up. Admittedly, I‘m not great at predicting (you‘d think I‘d be better by now with how much I read 😂), but there were definitely twists that I did not see and/or understand right until the very end. 7/10
Well that was an interesting read, sequel that needs you to have read the previous book. Quite Irish and quite inclusive and interesting characters with different motives. The ending felt a bit rushed and like an end to the series but also somewhat open-ended.
This was a disappointing follow up to The Call. It felt rushed and confusing and I just kept waiting for answers I never received. Ending was rushed and a big let-down.
The terrifying Sidhe have found a way to escape the Grey Land and are invading Ireland. Picking up where The Call left off, this is a satisfying sequel, fast-paced, action-packed, and full of scary moments. I doubt it would stand well on its own so The Call is necessary reading for this one.
2. A friend of ours is moving away 😢
3. Sadly no. The 3-year-old demands attention. 😜
4. A man walks in a dentist‘s office and says, “Doc, you‘ve got to help me. I think I‘m a moth. The dentist says, “That sounds serious but I think you need a psychiatrist not a dentist. Why are you here?” The man says, “The light was on.”
5. Will do

Enjoyed this sequel to The Call. It only got darker in the second book. And the first had darkness aplenty. The characters were rich, the worlds layered. It had everything I wanted, except more. I didn't want the end to arrive. When it did it was a bit rushed and left me with questions that could be explored in another sequel. I was satisfied overall and can see this as an ending point, but I really want more of this brutal and unforgiving world.
Thanks to @book_keeperx for this sleeve! My first one by her and of course I had to choose the Birthday pattern since every day is my Birthday 😉 it fits most paperbacks and some hardbacks like The Invasion. I love that even the envelope she mailed it in is Bookish, and she sent a bookmark and a lovely handwritten note ❤️ Sturdy and beautiful! This is the sequel to #TheCall I loved the first book and the author is having trouble getting word out about this sequel. This story means a lot... help spread the word about #TheInvasion Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, however you can!!
November reads. It's already December 1 here and I can't seem to get to tree decoration... it's the weekend tomorrow. Might have a better chance then. #readingstats
