My Happy Place | 
My daughter and I were in Target doing some early Christmas shopping this morning. We passed another mother and daughter. The daughter says "clothes are my happy place." And the mom sighs and says "books are my happy place." My daughter laughed and said to me "it's your twin."

To the unwinding of words...
~From the journey to wonder places..
To the scrabbling of thoughts...
~I stayed face stuck to a book; lost and bound;
~And that‘s how I got myself found!

⭐️My happy place is the coffee shop by my house that I feature fairly often on my posts.
⭐️It‘s my happy place for many reasons: it‘s along the marina water so there‘s great views from the patio, it‘s a perfect spot to relax & read, the food & coffee are excellent & I get the best service-they know my name & the owners & long time staff have become like friends.

Who knew volunteering with an animal welfare group can be so mentally exhausting? I called out someone out for lying (and for not doing their job). Instead of responding like an adult, she a) uses the “I‘m older than you” card and b) threw the term “on the spectrum” at me as an insult. I feel insulted on so many levels because I‘m an adult dammit! but mostly I feel sad that people still feel OK to use stereotypes in such a hurtful manner.
