The Business of Death
The Business of Death: Death Works Trilogy: Book Three | Trent Jamieson
7 posts | 2 read | 1 to read
The third book in Trent Jamieson's fast-paced and wryly witty urban fantasy series that breathes new life into the business of death. Life is tough at the top when work is a matter of life or death. It's one thing to run Mortmax International as head of a team, but it's quite another to rule alone. Staff fatalities have left Steven by himself on the Throne of Death, and there's no time to get comfortable. The Stirrer god's arrival is imminent, threatening life as we know it. Plus Steven has managed to mortally offend the only ally strong enough to help out. And how can he ask someone to marry him when the End of Days seems inevitable? As if they're going to think he's committed. The portents don't look good as a comet burns vast and looming in the sky and Steven can almost hear a dark clock ticking. He will have to play nice if he wants his ally back, and must address the madness of the Hungry Death within himself if he even has a chance at defeating the Stirrer god. If he fails, Hell and Earth are doomed and wedding bells will be quite out of the question. 🎶 Don't Fear The Reaper by Blue Oyster Cult. Seems the obvious choice after finishing The Death Works trilogy.

📖 Any age is fine as long as the character is well developed. I do have little tolerance for teen angst though.

Pickpick

Did I plan to stay up until almost 2:30am reading this? No but I couldn't go to sleep until I finished it. The final book of The Death Works trilogy was a wild rollercoaster read, surprise twists and turns, betrayals and sudden deaths, also some surprise returns. My first 5 🌟 read of 2021.

"Death is just and impartial. But life...Christ. Life is the cruellest of rigged lotteries."

Ain't that the truth!

I know he's pissed off even before I see him on the shoreline.

📖 Tagged plus The Zealot and The Emancipator
📖 The most recent would be The Sun Down Motel by Simone St. James. Next will probably be The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune. The Litsy love is strong for that one.
☕ I have recently discovered Kombucha. It's a fermented tea drink, made from tea, sugar, yeast and bacteria. Its definitely an acquired taste but I like it.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.
