StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I'm glad someone else didn't like it. It fell way to flat for me. 6y

TheFunkyBookworm @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @catherine2 If this wasn‘t written by JK Rowling no one would know about it lol It was so so so so soooooo TEDIOUS!! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Nessavamusic i was really tempted to put it down many a time, BUT it was for my bookclub so I soldiered through 🥴 6y
catherine2 It would have been decent with good editing. Just waaaay too long. 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @catherine2 agreed.... by about 300 pages 😂 6y
Spencer_Labbe Better than the second book though! Lol 6y

Pretending like I‘m going to read while my hubby tapes his hockey stick in preparation for his first game tonight... at 10:45pm?!?! Here‘s to hoping I don‘t have to meet him in the ER later... 😖 🏒

Anyway- this book... ughhhh it‘s sooooo slowwwww.... nothing happenssssss 😫 I would abandon ship but it‘s for bookclub and I bailed on last month‘s book (to be fair, so did most everyone else lol). Blahhhhhh

Penny_LiteraryHoarders I've listened to all in audio. The narrator is fantastic!! They are too long sometimes but I've fallen in love with Strike. 😍 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @Penny_LiteraryHoarders sigh... I don‘t think I‘ll be reading any others in the series after this one lol I wish I had the attention span for audiobooks- maybe that would help this one along a bit! 6y
Amiable I felt the same way about this book. 6y

TheBookStacker I didn‘t like this book but did love the rest of the books in the series 6y
Soubhiville Yeah I bailed on this. Good luck! 6y
cariashley The first one is slow but the series gets better and better. I switched to audio after book one and liked it so much more! 6y
Patchshank I just finished that book not too long ago. I wasn't impressed. I haven't read the rest of the series. 6y

Sigh... another evening of icing (with a frozen h2o bottle) and reading 😖 This book is.... fine. I‘m not super invested but I‘ll plod through for the 5min of actual book talk at Bookclub 😂
NBR PS- Any other Littens go to Orangetheory? 🍊

TheBookStacker I was considering orange theory but I ended up going to an indoor cycling studio near my house instead. 6y

A glamorous evening of reading this month‘s Bookclub selection and icing my shin splints while my grumpy pup prays I offer up a piece of cookie (fat chance) 💁‍♀️

At first I wasn‘t very excited about this selection, but I‘m a little ways in and enjoying it more than I thought! Any opinions on this one?

Lreads I hope the ice helps! Shin splints suck. 💙 6y
rwmg I thought the plot was implausible even for the genre but I used to know the top of Charing X Road quite well, so enjoyed the description of Strike's haunts 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @rwmg I just love when I am familiar with the setting of a book I‘m reading! 6y
TheFunkyBookworm @QuietlyLaura thanks- I hope so too! I think I might have overdone it at the gym after two weeks off for holiday break! 6y

I enjoyed it. It kept me guessing to the end. I did find it very slow to start though.
