I think this book got me out of my reading slump. It was a nice light read.

Nice book to start off summer!! And I love cutting my peonies and bringing them in the house. They smell so good!
Don‘t you hate when you‘re reading a book and the author has the names of the characters mixed up in the middle of a scene? That‘s happened twice in 6 pages 😑
Ah, family! What is more special and important and all-encompassing? I love reading about families and Nancy Thayer (once again) has done an outstanding job at creating a family that pulls you in right from the beginning and has you begging to read more about them. The characters are so engaging and have such realistic issues and events, good and bad, that you feel connected to them and can relate. Highly recommended!
As per usual with this author, this was just okay for me. I never really felt invested with any of the characters and several were downright annoying. I may have to cross her off my auto-read list.
An enjoyable read. It went a little deeper than I expected but all in all satisfying.
My day today. Did some planting now that spring has most definitely sprung. Watching the Warriors game Ina little while and reading my book.
Really rough afternoon here. I found out a friend passed away after a nearly 1 year fight against brain cancer. She was 2 weeks away from turning 47. So tragic and so unfair. I‘m hoping to just snuggle with my puppies and get lost in a book tonight. My heart is broken for her sister as I know too well the heartbreak she‘s going through. Life is short people, love it and love your people 💔
Now for something much lighter than my last read.
Alison & David are getting married in September & Alison is determined to spend the summer trying to unite the families. The summer brings changes for everyone but by the time they get to the wedding in September they are family. A story of family, and marriage, and love and being adult.
thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing an ARC for my honest review.
Quintessential #NancyThayer: Familial strife for likeable, empathetic, flawed characters. Refreshingly, the wedding referenced is that of 55-yr-old widow Alison to 63-yr-old widower David. Alison longs to meld their families & celebrate their having found love again. Read #ANantucketWedding by the pool or, better yet, on the beach!⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thanks to #NetGalley for an Advance Reader's Cooy of the book.
Sisters Felicity & Jane had never been close until reunited on Nantucket. "They were closer than they had ever been before. Could it be that in growing up they had cast off some of their own jealousies and small-mindedness? It was as if the years had worn away their defenses, insecurities, and differences, and now they were softer, open to the possibilities of a true friendship. . . . Sometimes the workings of the world astonished [Felicity]."
