Their Fractured Light
Their Fractured Light: A Starbound Novel | Amie Kaufman, Meagan Spooner
A year ago, Flynn Cormac and Jubilee Chase made the now infamous Avon Broadcast, calling on the galaxy to witness for their planet, and protect them from destruction. Some say Flynn's a madman, others whisper about conspiracies. Nobody knows the truth. A year before that, Tarver Merendsen and Lilac LaRoux were rescued from a terrible shipwrecknow, they live a public life in front of the cameras, and a secret life away from the world's gaze. Now, in the center of the universe on the planet of Corinth, all four are about to collide with two new players, who will bring the fight against LaRoux Industries to a head. Gideon Marchant is an eighteen-year-old computer hacker known in Corinth's underworld as The Knave of Hearts. He'll climb, abseil and worm his way past the best security measures to pull off onsite hacks that others don't dare touch. Sofia Quinn has a killer smile, and by the time you're done noticing it, she's got you offering up your wallet, your car, and anything else she desires. She holds LaRoux Industries responsible for the mysterious death of her father and is out for revenge at any cost. When a LaRoux Industries security breach interrupts Gideon and Sofia's separate attempts to infiltrate their headquarters, they're forced to work together to escape. Each of them has their own reason for wanting to take down LaRoux Industries, and neither trusts the other. But working together might be the best chance they have to expose the secrets LRI is so desperate to hide.

Read the third in the series right away after finishing the second? Or put a buffer book in between? Sometimes when I read a sequel too closely after, they run together and I can't remember which one was which!

JacqMac I usually like a book or two between them. 14mo
abbielistenstobooks @JacqMac funny - I've got one in my queue that's got one of the same narrators! 14mo
StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego I usually need a break between books. 14mo

abbielistenstobooks @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego @Karkar @JacqMac I absolutely hate the one I tried to use as a buffer! Bail review coming soon... 14mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage I‘m always afraid a buffer book will start me on a path of distraction. What if I never get back to the series?? 14mo
JacqMac @abbielistenstobooks Oh, no! I guess it wasn‘t meant to be. 14mo
abbielistenstobooks @BarbaraTheBibliophage I don't think that's a risk in this case, as I am loving the series so much! Also, I've got it currently checked out from the library, so it'll be sitting there looking at me. :) 14mo
BarbaraTheBibliophage @abbielistenstobooks Oh, now that makes a difference! 14mo
cariashley I think you could go either way with these - each stands on its own given there are different main characters. I read them a few months apart and that was perfect, but I think they‘d also work back to back! 14mo

I liked this one! The first two books in the series were only so-so for me, but this one was definitely better. It still had some common YA tropes, but overall it was pretty solid. Again, if I had read this series when I was 14, I think I would have loved it. I‘m glad that this last book was better than the previous ones. 3 1/2 stars.

I‘m about an hour late, but I‘m doing it anyway. @MinDea #HumpDayPost

1. This series has only been so-so for me so far, but I‘m committed at this point so I‘m going to see how it ends. 🤷🏻‍♀️
2. Cadbury Eggs 🐇
3. Generation ❌
4. There‘s a Tiffany necklace on the night stand next to me. 💍
5. Hopefully a trip to Home Depot so I can get material to put up some small shelves in the den, and in the hubs home office. 🛠

MinDea It's still Hump Day here in Seattle! 😉 2y
That-Bookish-Hiker Cadbury eggs are so addicting! 2y

If you guys need a good outer space read, try this series. The first book is best described as Titanic in space, and the series just takes off from there. I think there is a big gap of decent modern science fiction stories, so I am always appreciative of a creative series like this one. Each book is a romance, that fits into a larger story. The conclusion (this book) brings them all together.

JanuarieTimewalker13 I couldn't get through the first one. The female character annoyed me. Maybe she got better by the end but it bored me so I bailed. I think I'm probably too old for it to appeal to me. Yet I liked the what I've read so far of the Lunar Chronicles (Cinder, Scarlett), go figure! 3y
GypsyKat I just added this trilogy to my TBR list, thanks! 😊 3y

Last few minutes in paradise 😩 This was a great closer to the series and probably my favorite, more so because it brought all the characters together than for the last pair Sofia and Gideon (although they were cute!). Lilac and Tarver were the best. Now back to winter reality...

melrailey I loved this series too. 3y

Moving on to the final book in this series. So far this has been a fantastic series.

melrailey Yep I just stayed up way past my bedtime finishing this book. Such a satisfying conclusion to the series. 3y
R.Lyn-Romance-Reads I have the first book on my TBR list. I've heard so many great things about this series. 3y
melrailey @Silent-whispers I definitely recommend them. And they get better as they go. I basically recommend anything with Amie Kauffman's name on it. 3y

Current Read: Their Fractured Light // Amie Kaufman and Meagan Spooner

The final book in an incredible trilogy, Their Fractured Light stars charming con-artist Sophia and hacker Gideon coming together to bring down LaRoux, the man responsible for the deaths of their families and the man behind the wisps.

Really enjoying it so far - I can't wait to see what happens next!

Finally finishing this trilogy. I don't know what it is about this writing style that sucks me in, but suck me in it does!

LizzyM This series looks very intriguing. I have even gone so far as to check out the first book from the library but never got to it. Hmmm...perhaps I need to try again. 3y
Sue @LizzyM do it! The main characters differ from book to book. I just love the writing. (And the covers are so damned pretty.) 3y
cariashley These are solid! I need to read the last one too... 3y
ReadingRover I know! Idk why it's taking me so long to go through the series. Every time I pick one up it sucks me in and I love it. I still have to read the last one. What am I waiting for?!?! 3y
