I thought this was the last Chronicles of Kazam book, but no: there‘s a fourth one! I won‘t complain—the adventures of Jennifer Strange are lots of fun. Fforde‘s world-building is kind of all over the place, but witty and clever. However, the characterization here felt lacking, especially when certain events at the end failed to evoke the depth of feeling they should have—either from me or the characters. Maybe book 4 will resolve some of that?
