Medusa Uploaded by Emily Devenport offers readers a fast-paced science fiction thriller on the limits of power and control, and the knife-edge between killing for revenge or a greater good. My name is Oichi Angelis, and I am a worm. They see me every day. They consider me harmless. And that's the trick, isn't it? A generation starship can hide many secrets. When an Executive clan suspects Oichi of insurgency and discreetly shoves her out an airlock, one of those secrets finds and rescues her. Officially dead, Oichi begins to rebalance power one assassination at a time and uncovers the shocking truth behind the generation starship and the Executive clans. Oichi is out for revenge, but then she finds herself mixed up in a much bigger plot than she could ever imagine. Great characters, beautiful scenery, and I enjoyed the references sprinkled throughout. Think Battlestar Galactica meets The Matrix. A little confusing at times but definitely worth the read. 4/5

This was an interesting book. I was a little confused at times by the plot and the main characters motivations, but I thought the premise of the book was good.

Squidapus Oh I saw this and was debating buying it, good to hear 6y

Oichi is an awesome heroine. A member of the serving class, a worm, she‘s also the last hope of a few rebels. Humanity‘s in trouble and someone with a database of music and secrets installed in her head has to save it by via wearing the Medusa interface and assassinating the enemy. A rich and complex sci-fi tale from Devenport.

Oichi is a servant...and so much more. Humanity lives on ships, plots abound, and Oichi tries to balance power one assassination at a time, but she‘s not the only killer onboard. Devenport is always an interesting read.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book—basically, humanity is loaded into two huge ships. Life is run by hereditary classes, and the heroine is a servant, who scrambles around tunnels and serves the ruling families. But—big but—she‘s way more than that. She has the earth‘s great music loaded into her brain. And she‘s a rebel par excellence. A couple of times I got confused by politics but overall, a great read. No romance. #scifi #spaceopera

DuckOfDoom Sounds great! The setting sounds a bit like an 'unkindness of ghosts', but I think they sound totally different in execution! 7y
tammysue I don‘t read a lot of sci-fi but this sounds very interesting, stacking. 👍🏻 7y
EloisaJames @DuckOfDoom cool! Thank you, I stacked it. 7y

This book is so good. I love the way the author uses time jumps and the way she incorporates music into the story is just brilliant. This is one of the best books I‘ve read all year and I‘m super excited for more from Devenport.
