It's me. I left this book off for far too long and needed a good quarter to catch up to the story.

Not to mention that the book felt too long, more than 700 pages. That can turn into a boring YA novel.

Love this cover! I‘m excited to start this.

If you need some historical fantasy with strong ensembles to tide you over until the next Diviner‘s novel. This series is a good option.

Oh middle books, how I want to love you more than I do...Absolutely love The Last Magician, first in the series, which has great characters & plotting. The sequel is good, maybe even really good, but it suffers a little, even as it gets even more complex & full of twists & turns, from splitting up the gang. Some are stuck in NYC, some have broken out into world beyond. Trust is in short supply, danger high, betrayals common & there‘s more to come!

10% in (babysitting weekend so very little reading), I'm sinking back into this glorious world...
