Holy cow! This game ate 2 weeks of my life. I finished it this afternoon and while I really really friggen loved it...I'm glad I'm done cuz I've hardly been reading any at all and I've really missed this book that I had started right before the game came out.
I have too many hobbies and the nerd life is tough sometimes. 😜
I wasn't originally planning on jumping right into book 2 of the Salvagers trilogy right away, and I have read another book between them, but I'll be damned if I couldn't stop thinking about this series and how much I liked the first one.
So here we are. Why fight it? I'm jumping into book two tonight. 🤘
Finally finished a book this month! And what a fantastic book it was. Bk2 in The Salvagers series, it continues the crusade of the crew of the Capricious against the cult known as the Children of Singularity and it‘s leader, Henrick Witts. I love the mythology of this universe, it‘s like a cross between Firefly & Anne McCaffrey‘s “Crystal Singer” with magic thrown in. Loved it and can‘t wait to read Bk3. 5⭐️
My last day of the Queens Birthday long weekend was a good one. We got the main structure of our new fire pit area up & roofed, it‘s made from old telegraph poles & corrugated tin sheets with branches from my jacaranda as braces. We‘re paving it then making a built in bench & wood storage bin this week hopefully. Another beautiful sunset, reflecting off the huge gum tree next door. And I managed to finish this brilliant book, review to follow.
So this was my Saturday, potting up some flowers & bulbs, watering my gardens, checking out all the seedlings I started in the greenhouse, sitting in the sun, reading a book before watching the sun set in a beautiful show of colour. What was your day like?🌻🌼🌸🌞
It‘s such a perfect autumn day here I‘m set up in my backyard in the sun to finally get some reading done. I‘ve watered the veggie garden(which is going great), the flowers have the sprinkler in them and the rest of the potting can wait till tomorrow. Hopefully I can get a few chapters in, though I‘m exhausted after my asshole neighbours partied till 8.30 this morning. And now they‘re out there again!😡 #bloominglitsy #isolationinteractions
This is a pick for me... But verging on so-so, as a personal rating. The cast is fun, the magic is fascinating and the author really knows how to keep it action-packed. Personally, I get a little bored by all the fight sequences and there are deeper topics that characters will think about for a couple lines, but are otherwise glossed over (e.g. where's the line between pretending to be evil v becoming evil). I'll probably read the next one.
Just finished “A Bad Deal for the Whole Galaxy,“ vol. 2 in The Salvagers series by Alex White.
If you love Star Wars, Firefly, and space operas with underdog heroes that combine hard science with magic (and I really, really do) then this series is for you.
#BookMail Pt5 This one is the 2nd book in the Salvagers series which started with A Big Ship At The Edge Of The Universe. Another sci-fi series(obviously🙄)it‘s full of action, snark, killer bots plus, uniquely, involves magical abilities as well. It reminds me of a mashup of Firefly, Dark Matter & Anne McCaffreys ‘CrystalSinger‘ series. Highly recommended. ♥️♥️♥️
