A Christmas Date
A Christmas Date: A Festive Holidays Romantic Comedy | Camilla Isley
8 posts | 3 read | 5 to read
No one wants to be single at the holidays. Even Little Miss Grinch, Nikki, a successful and independent woman, must face her bachelorette status at the most horrible time of the year. December is her personal version of holly-jolly hell: a merry torture made of couples kissing at every corner, forced vacation days, and an inescapable family reunion. And when her baby sister announces shes engagedto Paul, the man Nikki is secretly in love withand that hes spending the holidays with them, Christmas starts looking bluer than ever. Nikki cant possibly survive an entire week trapped home as the familys spinster. But she has no time to meet men or to try the newest dating app, shes too busy working as a video producer for an advertising agency. So whats a girl to do? Nikki has the perfect solution: to hire a fake boyfriend. Luckily, her job gives her access to an endless catalog of gorgeous actors to choose from. But Nikki will soon discover that keeping business and pleasure from mixing isnt so easy, and that she might not be immune to a little mistletoe magic. Especially not when she picked out the perfect man as her Christmas date... A fun, festive romantic comedy with lots of bad behavior and Christmas spirit. Like a creamy hot chocolate with marshmallows, you wont want to put this deliciously hilarious novel down. Perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Sally Thorne, and Jo Watson. First Comes Love is a series of interconnected romantic novels. However, each book in the series can be read as a standalone.

When I started this book I didn't remember that I read it a few years ago (and it took until about 15% in when a scene happened that I remembered) but I think I enjoyed it more this second time around. I do love a holiday fake dating trope!

1. Not sure yet, but I'm not hosting.

2. Closest I get to auto buy are Alex Grecian, Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Camilla Isley.

3. A Blanket of Happy & Cookies. 😁🍪

It's late. Consider yourself tagged if you're reading this & haven't played. Thanks for the tag @hannah-leeloo

It's #two4tuesday on Wednesday, thanks @Andrew65

1. Not often but some. It's usually a romance book when I do.

2. Camilla Isley has some funny & sexy rom-coms. My favorite so far is tagged.

A cross between The Wedding Date and 28 Dresses, set during the stressful holiday seasons. Very cute, and I loved Diego! #WinterGames2020 #MerryReaders #HolidayReads @Clwojick

Christmas was lovely! The Hubs and I opened gifts, drank coffee, read a bunch (me) and went to the movies (which is our favorite Christmas tradition). We did get to see two 2 dear friends at the movies (@Cinsarly), which made the day even better! #WinterGames2020 #MerryReaders @Clwojick 661pts

Day eight of #the12coloursofDecember is Light Blue.

I loved this one! Part of a series but can be read in any order, this one includes a fake boyfriend.

#3books I've recommended to others

I have my friend a copy of the Christie because she loves watching the ID channel and has a short attention span. I've told a few people about The Christmas Date because the rent-a-date trope is especially fun for the holidays. I gave my mom a spare copy of Shadow of the Wind...she only liked it.

OriginalCyn620 Stacked the tagged book! 4y
Kelly_the_Bookish_Sidekick @OriginalCyn620 Awesome! It is 3rd in a series of connected romances (and I read this one first) so other than minor character relationships, it's a standalone. 4y

This was such a fun little romance! Nikki is in love with her friend Paul, who's been dating her younger sister Julia for 2 years when Julia & Paul announce their engagement! When her mother asks her to give up her bedroom over Xmas break for the newly engaged couple, Nikki does what any single woman would do...lie. Now she's bringing a boyfriend! So what if he's a paid actor who's just her sister's type? Currently a read now option on #netgalley
