#5-2023. Easy summer read- loved it! Makes me want to read a few more in the series and watch the Netflix version.

I was pretty disappointed in this book, I love the Netflix series, it‘s a warm and cozy show, this book did not have the same kind of feel.

nichollinlove That's disappointing to hear 😕 This has been on my TBR because of the show. It has the Gilmore Girls/Parenthood vibe. I was excited for the books because I assumed they emanated that. 2y
NAM99 @nichollinlove Turns out, pour it out is not part of the first book at least 2y

Listening to the audiobook. I liked the show and it follows the book fairly well. Nice way to do chores!

I really liked reading this story that lead to the TV show Sweet Magnolias. They are very close in storyline. I loved the closed friendship and bond the three lady have.

How was this so fun?!? This isn't my normal genre at all but I loved that most of the characters were treated respectfully and that there was a strong focus on the female friendships. I've also read so many romances that hinge on discord that it was refreshing to read about a couple whose struggles came from outside the relationship.

This turned out to be a sweet cozy read. Certainly there is plenty of drama - a contentious divorce, a troubled teen, and a gossipy town determined to cause trouble. But there is also supportive female friendships, a cool mom, and a sweet, respectful love interest (and not too much cheesy, sexy moments - though there is some 😆).

wanderinglynn I really liked the Netflix adaptation. 3y
shortsarahrose @wanderinglynn good to hear! Maybe I‘ll watch after I‘ve finished binge-listening to the audiobooks. 3y

Listening to this and enjoying some cheese and crackers. My cat April had to sniff the plate when I was finished.

So I‘ll admit - I started reading this so I can binge watch the netflix series. It was a cute read. I‘ve decided I‘ll read the first couple of books in the series before watching.
It should stretch my #escapewithabook plan

This was a book club pick and not quite my cup of tea. The writing was not great and the storyline was very rushed. I don‘t believe I will be reading any of the sequels and I‘m not sure yet if I want to watch the show like the rest of my book club. Book 10 of 2020.

Confession: my sister sent me a link to a Netflix show Saturday night and told me to watch it so we could pillowtalk. 4:30am Sunday morning after a scolding from my husband, I finished binging all 10 episodes and found myself fully invested. Lucky me its an 11 title book series. There are lots of differences but I enjoyed watching and now reading in reverse. ♡

audraelizabeth I loved the show Joanne Garcia Swishers husband is a local celebrity so to me its awesome to see her working. 4y
MaggieCarr @audraelizabeth it took me a full episode to realize she was Cheyenne from Reba. She is a gorgeous redhead, which is her natural color red or blonde? 4y
audraelizabeth @MaggieCarr Im not sure. I think blonde. 4y

Calling #24b4Monday with 2 books done and no idea how many hours I actually read. I‘m guessing somewhere between 8&12. This one was a reread but since I binged it on Netflix last week, and never finished the series in the first place, I decided to reread and finish. Now it‘s off to bed for me! @Andrew65

Andrew65 That‘s great, well done. 👏👏👏🙌🥳🍾🥂 4y

Just finished Sweet Magnolias in Netflix. It was a fantastic series but damn does it have a cliffhanger.

I had thought about reading the series, however after reading some reviews it‘s probably not my jam so I will be holding out hope for season 2!!

wanderinglynn I can‘t wait for season 2! In the meantime, I‘m on my library‘s waitlist for book 1 because I must know (providing that scene is in the book). 🤭 4y

Just finished binging the Netflix adaptation of the Sweet Magnolias series by Sherryl Woods (who is an exec producer on the show). And WOW! What an adaptation! But spoiler warning, season 1 ends in a mega cliffhanger, so be forewarned. Had I known, I would‘ve waited until season 2 dropped.

kimmypete1 OMG I wish I had read this before I started watching. Currently on episode 6 and I‘m loving it, but if I had known there was a cliffhanger I wouldn‘t have started. 4y
kimmypete1 Also did not know it was based on a book! 4y
TEArificbooks Oh I didn‘t know it was based on a book. And omg the cliffhanger. Why did they have to do that to us. I recommended it to my sister and the next day I had to tell her not to start it and wait for season 2. 4y

wanderinglynn @kimmypete1 🤭 sorry. 4y
wanderinglynn @mdm139 Right?!? That ending was so wrong. 4y
Mrs_B I was going to binge it this week. Thanks for the warning - I might wait for season 2. 4y
Allylu It‘s on my list! 4y
wanderinglynn @Mrs_B I really enjoyed it, but cliffhangers suck! 4y
