I really enjoyed this book set during the 1890‘s in NYC. A fun and pleasant read about Lucinda, a young girl left orphaned for the year while her parents went to Italy for her mothers health. The adult reader in me though was a bit miffed that a plot point was left unresolved. As a child I probably would have been ok with it but the adult in me needs all the answers!

NON-BOOKISH POST ALERT!

I'm turning 46 in just over a week and these awesome roller skates are what I'm getting! Haven't roller skated for more than 30 years but have ice skated more recently. Well, that's probably more than 20 years ago now I come to think about it! Question is - have I totally lost my mind? Should I run a book on how long it'll take me to break something?! Is it best to stick to books and diamond painting?! 🛼?🛼?🛼

Kimberlone Those skates are FABULOUS! it might take awhile to get used to it again but I‘m sure you‘ll pick it up. Just have to commit to practicing regularly. I picked up some roller blades a few years ago and it had probably been 15 years since I‘d last bladed, and it came right back to me. 3y

Palimpsest Awesome! I follow a few roller skaters on Instagram because I love watching them do toe spins and these other moves I had no idea you can do on skates. TheSpineView You are never too old to do the things you love! I am almost 60 and ride my horse 3/4 times a week and still jump. I am working toward doing cross country with my latest horse. That means galloping over fields, jumping ditches, logs, etc. I am loving it! 3y
