#HaikuADay #HaikuHive
So my Tuesday was marginally better & slightly shorter than Monday, but not great & I crashed early—hence why the Tuesday daily haiku is being posted today. I‘ve decided to make my week by day the theme, because why not? 🤷🏻♀️ Hopefully, I‘ll get Wednesday‘s written & posted soon.
Tuesday, resembled
Monday‘s exhausting pace but…
Friday is closer!

1. In addition to reading - knitting, walking (especially hiking in nature) and yoga bring me peace.
2. The Sugar Queen by Sarah Addison Allen. I‘ve re-read it many times just for the joy of it. I also have a book of daily meditations about grief that I find comforting.

1. In many things yes; I like to control the flow and know what to expect. Sometimes plans implode and make for a good time!!
2. Be ready when the Luck Happens, the Ina Garten memoir pretty much is about plans going to the wayside, and her biz turned out pretty amazing! “How easy is that?!”

2- book 2 in that series and Feast of Crows

Nicci French used to be one of my favourite mystery crime authors. I still have a few unread titles on my bookshelf, so I thought to revisit this author. Maybe I have aged, or my palate has changed, as it has turned out to be an average read for me now. Tuesday's Gone is the second book from the Freida Klein's series. I have not read any from this series and it can be read as a standalone as I didn't feel the gap. My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. 👇🏻

#two4tuesday thanks for the tags @Kshakal @TheSpineView
1- unsure I‘m a total mood reader
2- I have an indie romcom on preorder

1. I see Ann Napolitano has an old book being released so I have a new hold on Within Arms Reach…I saw intergenerational and Irish, sold.
2. How the Light Gets In by Joyce Maynard, the sequel to Count the Ways. I saw an online reading of the first chapter last weekend, she is so gifted.

1. Michael Tolliver from 2. The Tales of the City by Armistead Maupin…I read this series several times in college and as a young adult, such a fun coming of age story in a wild 70‘s/80‘s San Francisco.

1- played softball most of my life, have also been a dancer and cheerleader. Adore watching football.
2- anything by Sarina Bowen
#two4tuesday @TheSpineView

1. I enjoy watching baseball in person, football on the TV. I‘ve been a Cubs fan since birth, so that‘s my favorite team to root for even if I am in Brewer Country. I like to run/walk now but played softball in Highschool. And love a game of Horse!
2. Beartown is a great read about a rough and tumble home town hockey league. The team itself is probably the main character, everyone in town is involved.
Thanks for the tag @Kshakal #Two4Tuesday

1. Playing is a hard pass! Lol. Enjoy watching football, baseball and soccer. I did jump on the Milwaukee Bucks bandwagon the past couple years!
2. Carrie Soto and Beartown
Thanks @Kshakal @TheSpineView #two4tuesday

1. I have to thank @TheSpineView for the tag because I can blather one more time how much I love, love, loved 💕 Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. The audio by Meryl Streep WOW.
2. The simple life of this family. Mrs. Nelson, Lara, the narrator, could have had a different, more exciting life but she chose and loved the one she got. Simple, cherries, Michigan. I‘m a midwesterner and that all sounds like a slice of heaven, but oooooh the adventures she had!

1. Nope
2. The Twilight Series, I enjoyed the wealthy old vamps. Or the evil grandma in Flowers in the Attic.

1. Enjoying the air conditioning inside. I have been walking in the morning and take a cool shower to try to stop sweating! Gross!
2. Brene Brown is inspiring to me, to believe I can be better. But also memoirs of real people facing hard things can be inspiring. To read what people can overcome is incredible, a reminder of the things humans are capable of in the face of adversity.

1. My favorite for May was Hula by Jasmin Iolani Hakes - on audio, the narration added to the fictional story as well as the history of Hawaii, and I enjoyed the occasional first person address to the reader.
2. Forager by Iliana Regan…I was hoping to join a local book club zoom with an intro by my fav local author Nikolas Butler, for him, I tried - it was just not my style so I abandoned the plan.
