so-soThere was an interesting idea here but there are some very disturbing scenes including an attempted sexual assault early on in the book. The MC is rather fortuitously the spitting image of Byron whilst the main female character, Persephone, is a Manic Dream Pixie Girl who made me want to eyeroll every time her character appeared.
It did keep me reading to find out what was happening but it wasn't as good as I had hoped it would be. 3⭐
pickJustin Evans can certainly create a mood... this book is very atmospheric: mysterious and depressing. I was quite creeped out by the ghost story in several parts, but I would not call this horror. A modern day story, but set in an old school with a whole lot of history - of Lord Byron, no less.
The book was slow for the first half, then took off and grabbed me, but then the ending bummed me out. 😞
All in all, a good read.
