Finished my August #BookSpin last night. Love this touching story of real bear inspiration for Winnie the Pooh. The illustrations were great too.

“The cub climbed into Harry‘s lap and licked his chin.”
I think the children would really enjoy this story because it tells the story behind Winnie the Pooh getting its name!
“Winnie” was written by Sally Walker in 2015. This book is a wonderful nonfiction about a character named Harry who cared for a baby bear at the train station. This book inspired the character of the “Winnie-the-Pooh”. I really enjoyed this story!
#LetsTravelAugust Day 20: I loved seeing how this Military Veterinarian had a heart big enough to not only care for the army horses but to also provide #shelter, nourishment, and the most unlikely home to this orphaned cub in the middle of a war zone. Great backstory about Winnie the Pooh and how the timeless character came about. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-b02

I didn't know much of the back story of Winnie-the-Pooh, but this little book was a joy. I'm on a mission to find out more.
#TBRtemptation post! Came across this beautiful children's book in my library's processing area today. The incredible story of the real life Winnie (Winnipeg), bought as a cub by vet Harry Colebourn, becoming Harry's WWI regiment's mascot, & cared for in the London Zoo by a boy named Christopher Robin. It has gorgeous illustrations and real-life pictures of Winnie, Harry, Christopher, & others. What a heartwarming gem! #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
A wonderful true story of how Winnie the Pooh came to be. It was all at the hands of a military vet named Harry Colebourn. The story and illustrations are great, but the best part is the real pictures on the inside covers. Selected for Illinois Reads 2016.
