The Folio Edition of Dorothy Parker is wonderful. I admit, I haven't read any of her writing yet. (I think) Looking forward to reading the book.

I'm not showing everything I got, because some of the tea and the hot chocolate is gone already. ☺️

My first Dorothy Parker! This is an anthology of some of her poems and short stories. While Parker‘s oft touted acerbic wit is very much present in many of these pieces, I was surprised by the pathos and despair in others. (Caveat: racist stereotypes and language in some of the short stories 😖)

"The Best of Dorothy Parker" put out by The Folio Society London in 1995 is pretty great. It has pictures, a sliding bookcase and is all sparkling. If you're going to read just one Parker I still suggest the "The Portable Dorothy Parker" because of the amount of content.

I went outside to photograph this, hoping you'd be able to see how glittery and sparkly it is. Unfortunately, my camera does not do justice to its glitteryness. Anyway, this is the 1995 edition by the Folio Society of London. It comes in a slipcase and is altogether fabulous.

I love the illustrations in this book so much, and the sparkly cover. I'll post a picture of the cover in a minute, because it's different from the one Litsy has.
