Book 183
This one was hard to put down! Very twisty and I love a good unreliable narrator! I also really like the memory loss trope, so this ticked a lot of boxes for me.

Geez, I feel like my physical book reading has really gone into an annoying “should I keep reading?” spin without anything keeping my attention! I picked this up, assuming it would keep me engaged, but it just didn‘t. The story was fine but all of the “twists” were so easy to see that it didn‘t even seem like there were any twists. It just wasn‘t what I needed or wanted. 🌟🌟🌟
So….Tidelands just isn‘t doing it for me right now 😔. It is absolutely not the fault of the book! I like the characters and where I assume the book is going, but it‘s been 4 days and I‘ve only been able to read 60 pages. I think I just need something twisty to keep my attention right now! So it‘s going on the nightstand for later and I‘m diving into this one!
A woman wakes in the hospital with little memory of the night before. She has been struck by lightning and her mother is dead. Then she starts to think she did it. This great premise unfortunately unfolds into a poorly composed book with every “twist” broadcast so far in advance that there are literally no surprises. A disappointment for me.
A very good, twisty thriller. Really enjoyed this one 🙂 Great ending!

This book is intense! Check out my review https://reecaspieces.com/2020/04/06/behind-every-lie-by-christina-mcdonald-galle...
Good little mystery but I figured out the ending easily. I still enjoyed listening. Eva wakes up in the hospital the day after her mom is killed. The police say she was found near her mom‘s house after being struck by lightning. With holes in her memory about the night her mom died, Eva wonders, did she do it?
OH. MY. GOD! Can you say amazing?! Ms. Christina McDonald gets better and better with each book. I freaking could not put this book down! Thank God for the holiday weekend because I would have been irritated with work getting in the way of my time with this one. All you fellow Lisa Jewel fans, I really think this one is for you. Flawless. Simply flawless. Okay, I'm going to go to be a geek and follow her on Instagram now. LOL 😃

At last the workweek is over & it's time to relax with a good book.
I loved #TheNightOliviaFell but 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐜𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 has really stepped up her game in 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐋𝐢𝐞. So happy to be home, ready to curl up and finish reading it. Dying to know if my guesses are accurate.

She had me with the lightning strike. BEHIND EVERY LIE is an engrossing and intense heart-stopping thriller. The writing effortlessly blends the characters, settings and story into a compelling read that you will not want to put down. The cast of characters is masterfully developed with each character playing a vital role in the story. https://www.bluestockingreviews.com/post/behind-every-lie
I love when a preorder is waiting for me when I get home after work! This one sounds soooo good! Hoping to get to this one by the end of the month 🤞
Thanks, #NetGalley! This fast-paced thriller opens with one of my favorite fictional tropes- memory loss. Lightning causes Eva to not recall what had happened the night before - and as she tries to piece together her memories, more and more secrets start to be revealed. Though I did see a lot of the twists coming, there are a few real surprises too. I enjoyed it - it would be a great vacation read!
Quite the page turner. It was a quick read, mostly because I couldn't really put it down. I liked working through the whole story to figure out what really happened at the beginning of the book. It has all the classic makings of a great psychological thriller from an unreliable narrator to a mysterious backstory.
