Peter Nimble and His Fantastic Eyes is an excellent book for young readers who are getting into reading. This book talks about Peter, who is a blind kid with quirks fit for a thief. He's got fingers that can pick locks; he is nimble as suggested in the title, and can pick pocket people without them feeling a thing. The only problem this fellow has is that he doesn't have eyes.

Yousif_Darwiche Peter works for Mr. Seamus because he is the only person that took him in. Of course, Mr. Seamus only took him in after watching him steal apples from a stand without a person knowing. In order to continue living with Mr. Seamus, he has to steal money everyday to satisfy him. One day he steals a box from a mysterious man. The box contained 3 pairs of eyes, each one with a different type of power.

Yousif_Darwiche This book has many themes; for example, making your own decisions, not being afraid to change, and exploring the world. In the book, Peter was faced with a choice that would change him. He could either take on the task or saving the world with the powers of the eyes or stay a thief.

If you like books that have a mysterious feel to them and are fantasy fiction, or this book “Game of Thrones,” then this book is a great read for you!

I finished this last night, putting me ahead for next months buddy read. I don‘t always love big, epic, fantasy adventures in mg books, I can get bored, but I did enjoy this one. Sir Tode was a lovable character that will stay with me.

megnews I am so excited to read this! Can‘t wait! 2y
mrp27 @megnews It wasn‘t what I was expecting at all but I enjoyed it. 2y

Peter Nimble is a blind orphan who wishes to become the “greatest thief of all time“. He receives a gift containing three different pairs of eyes, each of which does something magical for him to be successful. I really liked this book because it's quirky and it makes you love each and every character. You go through so many emotions and it's an easy book to read.

Lola.DigoutFord One of the themes in this book is friendship, this can be seen all throughout Peter's journey. I would recommend to those who love fantasy and just want a super engaging and bizarre book to read. I give it a 9/10 3y

“Now, for those of you who know anything about blind children, you are aware that they make the very best thieves.” It takes a little buy-in to make Peter Nimble‘s world believable, but if you‘re willing to buy in, I think the payoff is worth it. This is a delightful fantastical orphan-coming-of-age story, in which Peter discovers that his experiences and his character have shaped him into exactly who he needs to be.

I can understand why my friend, who gifted this to me, enjoyed reading it with her son. Peter Nimble has all the elements of a great bedtime story, with an unusual twist: the main character is blind. When Peter stumbles on three pairs of magical eyes, they don‘t give him sight the way you would think. They do take him to other worlds and fantastical adventures, where Peter proves he‘s more than what he seems, and yet all he needs to be is himself.

MrBook Great review! 5y

Catching one last glimpse of NYC on my train trip home. This one is a slightly longer trip (nine hours!) so I'm planning to squeeze in lots more reading before I have to return to the real world of work and responsibilities. Why can't vacation last forever?

What is the line between whimsy and twee? When does charm become treacle? What makes a clever allusion versus an overused trope? It's a fine balance that this book did not achieve. I love a good middle grade novel but this was cringey. #DNF #readjanuary @RealLifeReading
