A beautiful story about family and friends

A lower reading total for me this month, with six books completed. I‘ve been catching up on podcasts instead of listening to audiobooks, and my EfM reading (Education for Ministry class at church) has also been cutting into my usual reading time. But there was some great reading to be had in November! Belong to Me was my favorite, along with We Should All Be Feminists. And White Teeth was also excellent!

Quick read, good for a road trip or flight. A little predictable, but that‘s okay sometimes. I had no idea this was a sequel.

I LOVED this. I want to hug it. It‘s a follow-on from Love Walked In, but works as a stand-alone. I loved the characters I loved in the first book, and fell in love with a few new ones as well (some surprisingly). I still have issues with the way de los Santos flips between first & third person—it‘s a bit distracting. But that aside, I loved this. Smart, sweet, and light (but also some depth to it!). I‘m gonna have to read more from this author!

I‘m 68% of the way through Les Mis. I got stuck in the slang digression while on the train to Edinburgh at the beginning of my UK trip, and then gave up on it for the rest of the trip. Still, I‘m determined to finish it in October, even though I totally conked out on the #lesmisbuddyread. And even though I‘m currently in the middle of 4 other books. So of course I‘m sitting here thinking about starting Belong to Me instead... 🤦🏻‍♀️

Light and easy read. Pretty predictable story line. I had no idea this was the second book to a series.

Just couldn‘t get into it.

I‘m 43% through this book about women and friendship. It switches narration between three characters so that keeps my interest. Also there are untold secrets so I want to figure them out.

I loved this book.

This was a pleasant listen and nice palate cleanser which is exactly what I had been looking for.

Albeit slightly predictable, it has some very endearing characters and a lyrical descriptive style that made for a very pleasurable listening experience during my nature walks outside after lunch. 👟

This was so good, the best time reading this book. I savored it, didn't skim, sat with it. Best vacation book! Now to read the first book in the series!!!

Oh my goodness. You think you have a woman figured out and she spills her life, her brokenness to you and everything gets flipped upside down. Even if in high school you would have been at another table, it doesn't matter anymore. You're women.
