Possession
Possession | Michael Rutger
From the author of The Anomaly comes the second installment in The Anomaly Files, a series in the tradition of James Rollins of a team investigating American myths and legends. Still recovering from the shocking revelations they uncovered deep in uncharted territory in the Grand Canyon, American myth and legend investigator Nolan Moore and his team take on a new mission, investigating a rumored case of witchcraft and possession. Nolan hopes their new case, in a quaint village in the middle of the woods, will prove much more like those he and his team investigated prior to their trip to Kincaid's cavern. But as the residents accounts of strange phenomena add up, Nolan and company begin to suspect something all too real and dangerous may be at play. A force that may not be willing to let them escape the village unscathed.

This book was at times very spooky and atmospheric and at other times it left me shaking my head. It was a page turner but I'm not sure how I feel after finishing it. A spine tingler for sure but also mind bending at times.

This book‘s plot was all over the place and ultimately the ending left me indifferent. A bummer since I liked the first book so much but this didn‘t leaving me wanting a third.

Creepy and very different. This has a slow build but I enjoy that.

This is part 2 of The Anomaly Files and this one has Nolan and his crew investigating a missing girl, an ancient wall and witchcraft.

Your attention please - The Anomaly had a sequel published a few months ago! I had no idea! It was a super fun Indiana Jones meets History Channel conspiracy shows scifi thriller #botm pick a few years ago. I can't believe I missed the news that the sequel was released! They did some hardcore rebranding of the books (to...horror?? 🤷). So hopefully this isn't too scary for me! 😬🤣 Has anyone read either book?

TheLibrarian Oooo I didn‘t know their was a sequel either! Definitely will be checking it out. 5y

Like Scooby Doo for adults!
The Possession by Michel Rutger is the sequel to my favorite book of last year! The series is called The Anomaly Files.
I enjoyed this read a lot. It took me awhile because I basically only read it at nighttime to add to the spooky vibes! This would make a great October read! I missed the characters so much waiting for this sequel, and now I‘m ready for a 3rd book! Micheal Rutger better be staying busy!! 🖤👻🔮

BookBumming Sorry for the late post! I‘ve been super busy! My baby girl was born a month ago and she had to have heart surgery! 5y

Not as good as “The Anomaly” but still a page turner. It could have benefitted from some additional editing and cutting, but it was a good atmospheric read. Rutger is an auto-buy author for sure.

“The Anomaly” was one of the best books I read last year. I‘m so excited to read the sequel! The library hold list for this one was surprisingly short 😍
