Celebrating 20 Years of Agatha Raisin Brand-New M.C. Beaton Bonus Story Included! Bossy, impulsive, and unlucky in love, the all-too-human Agatha Raisin has proved to be a surprisingly effective---and endearing---amateur sleuth. But can Agatha make it as a private investigator? After getting mugged on vacation, in what she will always think of as the Paris Incident, she decides to find out.Agatha soon learns that running her own detective agency in the Cotswolds is not quite like starring in a Raymond Chandler movie. Instead of dames in distress with big shoulder pads, her clients are ladies with missing cats and a man whose son has run off with his car. Agatha even worries that she might be outclassed by her sixty-seven-year-old secretary, Emma Comfrey. But then wealthy divorcee Catherine Laggat-Brown walks in with their first "real" case. Mrs. Laggat-Brown's daughter has received a death threat, and when Agatha thwarts an attack on the girl at a dinner dance, she recognizes an opportunity to show what Raisin Investigations can do. Even better, the case gives her a chance to reunite with her long-absent friend, Sir Charles Fraith. As they scour the Cotswolds in search of leads, Charles' insights prove invaluable and his charms irresistible, leading poor Emma to fall madly in love with him.As ever, in "The Deadly Dance, " Agatha bumbles her way through the case, trying her friends' patience and flirting shamelessly with the chief suspect. Will she put her tiny agency on the map, or has even the outrageous Agatha finally bitten off more than she can chew?"

Another fun addition to the Agatha Raisin series! Agatha is hot on the case of an attempted murder. Meanwhile, someone she knows wants her dead. I liked the two storylines - Agatha‘s case and the mind of the perpetrator as they tried to figure out how to get rid of Agatha. There are some laugh out loud moments, and a few off the wall situations. Great listen!

Ericalambbrown I just watched this episode of Agatha Raisin on Acorn last night! 1y
Librarybelle @Ericalambbrown Fun! I like the Acorn series too…different from the books, but still fun! 1y

I‘m just loving listening to these on #audiobook and I‘m flying through them! Agatha cracks me up and I‘m always happy when Charles makes an appearance. I also love Mrs. Bloxby. I‘d highly recommend this series when you are in the mood to relax and not think too much. 4⭐️

bookwrm526 I use these when I need a quick, funny read to counter some of my darker, heavier picks. I also love the TV series, though many of the characters are VERY different to the books. 4y

It is the type of book that is perfect for a sunny day sat out reading, it is a quite quick read as it is one that captures your attention and retains it throughout the novel.

In this book we follow Agatha on a journey to find out who starting sending death threats then who killed the grooms father. The journey leads us from the quiet little village all the way to France, it is a fun little mystery book to read .

Mehso-so

This is the first Agatha Raisin book I‘ve not cared for. Agatha opens her own detective agency in this one, and the storyline is completely disjointed. I think there were a couple of murders and there are also missing cats. It only gets a so-so because I liked the ending.

1. Got 2 of these when Mom was going through chemo - the clear part screws off so it‘s a big opening to refill w ice and water. Smart design!
2. 800 Words and The Doctor Blake Mysteries
3. Started the tagged book last night. It‘s a rec if you‘ve read the previous ones in the series.
4. Around 34F, partly sunny and breezy.
5. A heart and vine tattoo on my right hip, & regular ear piercing. Used to have a 2nd👂🏼piercing but they closed up.

cathysaid Love the Dr Blake Series! 7y

Started Book 15 in the Agatha Raisin Series. Really enjoying the start to this one as Agatha tries to set up her own Detective Agency. #crimefiction
