First and most importantly, this is a well written thriller, it took me a bit to get into but then I devoured most of the book in a day. The downside is that the matter of fact way of telling the story as well as the predictable ending left me feeling underwhelmed.

Pretty let down by this one honestly. The writing was good except for the fact that the conversations don‘t have any quotation marks which is annoying. It felt like incredibly boring and mundane buildup to a predictable conclusion that I feel was supposed to affect me more than it did. I really can‘t see myself reading this one again.
Got some #LitsyLove done today - thank you @BookwormAHN for the birthday card and stickers 🤗
Glad to finally be done with Good Omens but now this next book has slow pacing so hopefully my slump doesn‘t continue 😩
Hope everyone‘s Monday is going well!
Family man and father Thomas Martin is not who he claims to be in this psychological thriller. For fans of The Perfect Nanny by Leila Slimani and Laura Sims Looker.
TW: brief violence towards women, children, & animals.
A dark story about a man whose life unravels. There are plenty of signposts throughout that things may not be quite as they seem. An okay read but unsatisfying. 3⭐️
Thanks to NetGalley & publishers, Random House UK, Cornerstone / William Heinemann, for the opportunity to read an ARC. #NetGalley
I always have to find a book when I go in Target .. or anywhere really 🤣.. but especially Target. I‘ve never heard of this one so hope it‘s good!
When I finished this book, I had this uncomfortable feeling of wishing I had never read it. As I read about Martin Thomas‘ slow descent into madness, I had no hint of what was to come. As the story is told from his perspective, I found the calm and twisted conclusion chilling.
