I simply cannot use any other word but "Extraordinary"! I was torn between should I buy it or shouldn't I? Having just finished it, I'm absolutely of the mindset "Oh my gosh what if I hadnt?" A masterful telling of the human experience during WWII from the Nazi side. . . .to start. As Herta, once a fully indoctrinated child learns as she grows up, always question, decide for yourself. The world is so much more than what we are told.

A book about a girl growing in Germany at the start of wwii. She starts out totally buying into the info and propaganda she is given. But slowly she starts to realize it‘s wrong.

Unique WW11 romance set from the perspective of an ethnic German girl named Herta Heinrich. Her world is spun on its head when she falls for a Jewish boy. A forbidden romance made all the more dangerous by the fact that her father is a ranked Nazi officer. An epic tale that swings all over the emotion map as two young people hopelessly in love, but forbidden to be together navigate the world of young love in the shadow of Hitler.
