NYC bookshop/library recommendations requested!

It has been many years since I was last in NYC, but I‘m visiting a friend there for a weekend trip and want to checkout a few must seek bookstores and/or libraries!

What are some of the MUST visit bookshops? Thanks!

KatieDid927 Strand Bookstore and the main New York library on 42nd Street are the two biggest stops. There are other indie bookstores and historical libraries but those are the two you def don‘t want to miss. 3y
Lesliereads Posman Books located in Chelsea Market is a good one! 3y
lynneamch Hope you have a great time! I haven't been for several years either, but am taking my granddaughter next week. If you venture over to Brooklyn, see the Brooklyn Central Library by Grand Army Plaza and author Emma Straub's Books are Magic. In Manhattan we have to see the Morgan Library after reading 3y

Well-ReadNeck I always hit Book Culture, McNalley Jackson, and The Strand when I‘m in the city. 3y
Kitta I love the main library with the lions at Bryant Park, go check out the rose room at the top it‘s beautiful. Also the Strand and McNally Jackson. For good deals go to Housingworks bookstore! 3y

#JulyJourneys Day 17: Remembering the time when the inimitable Leonard Marcus himself gave me and my family a tour of the #NewYork Public Library back in 2012. Here is my post of that memorable visit: https://wp.me/pDlzr-42S

I really really miss #readingonlocation 😥
Maybe this audio file from the NYPL will soothe my reading soul! 👍🏼
