Happy Good Friday everyone! What are you up to this weekend? #BookishQuestion

BookishMe Great to see you posting regularly again... Hope you are settling in well in the new home ;D 6y
monkeygirlsmama Happy Easter Weekend! 🐣 ✝️ Not much planned here for Easter, but tomorrow we‘re going out for an early lunch and maybe to the park if the weather is decent. The rest of the weekend will be spent lazing about with a book, a puzzle, or games. Might hide some eggs for the girls to hunt Sunday, but not sure the weather is going to work with me that day. We‘ll see. Either way, LOTS of reading on my docket. 📚 😁 6y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @BookishMe thank you! Yep I'm - moving to our permanent home by end of this month...finally things coming together :) 6y
RinaBrahmbhattBarot @monkeygirlsmama hope you had a beautiful and 'Readfull' (full of Reading) day :) 6y

1) The used thriller/horror book portion of the store.
2) I have SO many. My favorite might be "If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." by C.S. Lewis.
3) I've never bought any, but there's a baby shower coming up & I could really use some suggestions. Bonus points if the book is female empowering.
4) @CatConstellations ?
@Lova #FridayFavorites

wanderinglynn Books are my favorite gift to give at a baby shower! I usually try to get a board book like Are You My Mother? by P.D. Eastman or one of the beginner Dr. Seuss books. Then a nicely illustrated one that has a good story like The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats or Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. And then a chapter book so the parents can read to the child, like Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo. 6y
Lova Someone gave me You are my I Love You by Maryanne Love and it‘s one of my favorites. 6y
Lova @KrystleTheBookSlayer I love that quote! 6y
KrystleTheBookSlayer Thanks @Lova and @wanderinglynn for the suggestions! I just hope they don't have any of the books that I get, they have two boys, so I know they probably have at least a few books. 6y

What a terrific book! I loved the 1970's setting. It was refreshing to revisit a world without texts and gadgets. The characters were believable and likable. I read an uncorrected proof from the publisher so didn't have this fancy cover but I loved it!

Cortg Sometimes I wish we could go back to a simpler world like the 70's without all the social media drama. I need a time machine. 7y
Jhullie @Cortg I agree. When my kids were young we would have power free weekends. I would cook on the BBQ, use candles and oil lamps, and we would play card and board games. Phones and computers were banished. 7y

Set during the 1974 London bombings, this is a fascinating insight into the police investigation processes and public fear the IRA instigated.
