I read for the sheer pleasure a beautiful sentence can give you,to expand my horizons and learn about perspectives different from mine, for fun,to relax my mind after a stressful work day by disappearing into the world of the book.
My family are all book readers,so my parents and grandparents inculcated the habit!
Any snatch of time I get!

Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I love your answers ❤️ 2y

This book.Oh my god, this book.I probably read it...once a week when I was a kid. This book transported me to Kirrin Island, and the Famous Five's adventuring. This is definitely the book that led me to think that reading was something that was more fun than anything else!

Lizpixie Famous Five were one of my first reading obsessions too!🙌 4y

1. The tagged book, it's still my Favourite Five book!
2. I've read the Narnia books multiple times, and the Chalet Series! Also I read most of Enid Blytons books again last year, for the millionth time!
3. I read the Phantom Tollbooth when I was much older, maybe 12 or 13, and I really wish I had access to that when I was younger! It didn't decrease my enjoyment of it though!

BookmarkTavern I also reread the Narnia books! Love them all! Thank you for posting! 4y

I always enjoy re-reading the Famous Five books as they were one of my favourites as a child. Joining the Five in their adventures always puts me in good mood and makes me feel like a child again.

1. All Enid Blytons have long descriptions of food! Apparently to let children living in wartime England with food rations live vicariously through her books.
2.Lemon muffins. And anything my mum makes.
3.Mushrooms.
4.Lisbon,absolutely adore Portuguese desserts specially pastel da nata.
5.Gostana, Bombay

Panpan

Such a disappointment. The Five are nasty, arrogant, selfish, mean-spirited, grossly classist little brats here, and both the children and the author seem to revel in their verbal and physical cruelty to the antagonists' child and little dog. Even the Five's canine member here is horrible--a vicious, tormenting furred menace that needs reined in by animal control. Ugh! Terrible!

Ugh! I really hate animal cruelty. A mangy, yelping, flea-ridden dog is an abused and neglected dog, not a proper target for an audience's derision.

Triple ugh! You dropped the ball here, author.
