There'll Be Peace When You Are Done: Actors and Fans Celebrate the Legacy of Supernatural | Lynn S. Zubernis
7 posts | 4 read | 10 to read
Fifteen years. Two brothers. Angels and demons. A story like no other. And one of the most passionate fan bases of all time. Thats Supernatural. Therell Be Peace When You Are Done: Actors and Fans Celebrate the Legacy of Supernatural is an emotional look back at the beloved television show Supernatural as it wraps up its final season after fifteen unprecedented years on air. With heartfelt chapters written by both the series actors and its fansplus full-color photos and fan illustrationsTherell Be Peace When You Are Done traces Supernaturals evolution, the memorable characters created by its writers and brought to life by its talented actors, and the many ways in which the show has inspired and changed the lives of both its viewers and cast. Both a celebration of Supernatural and a way of remembering what made it so special, this book is a permanent reminder of the legacy the show leaves behind and a reminder to the SPN Family to, like the series unofficial theme song says, carry on. Including contributions from: Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester) Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester) Richard Speight, Jr. (Gabriel) Andrea Drepaul (Melanie) Carrie Genzel (Linda Bloome/Linda Berman) Julie McNiven (Anna Milton) Tahmoh Penikett (Gadreel) Shoshannah Stern (Eileen Leahy) Brendan Taylor (Doug Stover) Lauren Tom (Linda Tran) And many more, including a special message from Mischa Collins ("Castiel") Edited by Lynn S. Zubernis, a clinical psychologist, professor, and passionate Supernatural fangirl, Therell Be Peace When You Are Done is the ultimate send-off for this iconic show that has touched and changed the lives of so many fans across all walks of life.

This show got me through some very tough times. It's difficult to put my finger on just what it is about this show that speaks to me but something does & I have never felt this invested in a show before or since.

It was heartwarming to read about people's experiences of conventions & what the show has meant to them. Some of the actors also give us their take, & the mutual respect & love between the actors & the fans is apparent. 4🌟

I worked the temperature screening station at the hospital door yesterday. People were coming in for a class at the Castele Center which was directly behind me. A handful of folks told me they were looking for the Castiel Center. They made this nerd smile behind her face mask.

Been watching this series for over a decade and just finished watching the final episode, can't remember the last I had a cry like that!!!

"It's okay, you can go now" ?

Absolutely the best series EVER!

The reason I post it on here is because I know there's a few fans on here and I don't know anyone else who watches it! ?‍♂️

What was your thoughts on the finale? Anyone?

KathyWheeler I liked the finale. I know there‘s a lot of hate out there for it, but to me, this is where they‘ve been heading since the very first episode. I cried. I wish that they hadn‘t given old Sam such terrible hair though. I also wish they‘d shown the mother of his son; instead, they treated her like she was a throwaway person, useful only for breeding. MrT I only watched up to season 5, then didn't get back into it. Sure it will all be on streaming somewhere before to long so I can give it another go. I feel the way you do but about Buffy & Angel. 3y
Sresendez12 I watched it from day one. Seriously watched it for half my life. I cried. I think it was the perfect ending. Did I hate it? Of course but only because I didn‘t want the show to end. I really do feel it was how the show should have ended. 3y

BookwormAHN I spent most of the episode crying. I've watched it since day one and thought it rather sucked that Dean didn't get to have a family too and that it was weird that they didn't really show Sam's wife but I typically hate series endings. 3y
Traci1 @KathyWheeler it should have been Eileen. 😞 3y
TheNeverendingTBR @KathyWheeler I thought the woman looked like Ruby, Jared's real wife 😄 3y
TheNeverendingTBR @MrT I recommend you complete the series! 👌 3y
TheNeverendingTBR @BookwormAHN It was very sad, I agree..but the ending was better than I expected. I'm going to miss everyone from this series 3y
TheNeverendingTBR @KathyWheeler @Sresendez12 @BookwormAHN @Traci1 Good to see Bobby at the end though, that was essential! 3y
KathyWheeler @MrT Those are my other two shows. I‘ve binge watched them both several times, and I‘m still upset that Angel didn‘t get the final season it deserved. 3y
KathyWheeler @TheNeverendingTBR I thought that might be the case, but I wasn‘t sure. 3y
BookwormAHN It was good to see Bobby and know that Castiel was back in Heaven. 3y

Supernatural has helped hundreds of people. From learning how to be true to yourself, to gaining the courage to continue, There‘ll Be Peace When You Are Done is a testament to the power of fandom. The SPNFamily is immense, and for those who don‘t quite understand, diving into this book will help. #supernatural #SPNFamily

This is it. The beginning of the end. Supernatural has been more than a show to me. This collection is full of stories from people who understand. #amreading #bookmail #SPNFamily #alwayskeepfighting #Supernatural

j9brown I loved this show! I'm a season and a half behind, I need to catch up for the grand finale ♥️ 4y
Tera66 I get this, Buffy was MY show and I honestly went through the stages of grief when it ended. I didn't get over it really until Supernatural and Trueblood came around. You will love again, it may never be the same, but the TV Gods will favor you again.🖤 4y
BehindthePages @Tera66 thank you. 💜 I keep crying as I read this book. It is certainly helping me process losing the show. 4y
BehindthePages @j9brown it's definitely worth it! 4y

Reading this as part of a book club with friends back home that got me into the show and became part of the SPNfamily
