Faithless in Death: An Eve Dallas Novel | J. D. Robb
14 posts | 17 read
In the new Eve Dallas police thriller from #1 New York Times-bestselling author J. D. Robb, what looked like a lovers quarrel turned fatal has largerand more terrifyingmotives behind it... The scene in the West Village studio appears to be classic crime-of-passion: two wineglasses by the bed, music playing, and a young sculptor named Ariel Byrd with the back of her head bashed in. But when Dallas tracks down the wealthy Upper East Side woman who called 911, the details dont add up. Gwen Huffman is wealthy, elegant, comforted by her handsome fianc as she sheds tears over the trauma of finding the bodybut why did it take an hour to report it? And why is she lying about little things? As Eve and her team look into Gwen, her past, and the people around her, they find that the lies are about more than murder. As with sculpture, they need to chip away at the layers of deception to find the shape withinand soon theyre getting the FBI involved in a case that involves a sinister, fanatical group and a stunning criminal conspiracy.

Cultish issues are nothing new but this is the next step up… or is it? Great read 📚📖

I have been so sick 😷 this past week. I finished this last week earlier but didn't feel like posting anything. It was another good one from the 'In Death Series.' Always feels like visiting old friends when I read one of these books.

Number 58 in this series. Another dose of Eve Dallas. Deals with a cult.

Not for me. I‘ve read other JD Robb that I enjoyed, but didn‘t like this one. Listened to the audiobook which was unintentionally hilarious at times. Chewing the scenery + accents that came in and out.

I adore this series. It can range from fine to fantastic. This one is definitely on the fantastic end. An artist is murdered and our hero Eve is on the case as always. What seems like an affair gone wrong ends being much much more. 5⭐️ another square for my #bookspinbingo

Another fantastic installment of JD Robb‘s In Death series.

It‘s amazing that this is book 52 in the series (plus 11 short stories). And books 53 and 54 are already scheduled.

I also love the quotes she includes at the beginning.

Book 1 for #AwesomeAugust

dylanisreading I still need to check out this series. 3y

Thoroughly enjoyable, as usual. Yes, it‘s the 53rd book in the series and I still rush to read them! Lieutenant Dallas and the crew take down a powerful and secretive “religious” order —a cross between Scientology, the Westboro Baptist Church, the Handmaid‘s Tale, and the Jim Crow South... Suffice it to say that the takedown is deeply satisfying.

A West Village sculptor, Ariel Byrd is found murdered by her socialite customer, Gwen. But Gwen's story has too many holes and there's a noxious and powerful Cult looming in the background. Detective Eve Dallas and her team peel off the layers one by one for a monumental takedown! Please read my review here https://rb.gy/8ew7mg and share your views. 🙏

🎧 My 1st JD Robb book. I didn‘t know what to expect. Apparently it‘s the newest, #52 😲 how is that even possible?

Started slow so I was almost not paying attention. About an hour in it grabbed me & then it was go go go from that moment on.

A murder leads to an investigation that uncovers a cult-like entity committing such unbelievable atrocities that it might cause nightmares.

I liked Eve & her crew. I hated that villainous Gwen! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2

This was so good! It really felt more like one of her earlier (maybe mid-series) books where Eve takes down a conspiracy. In this case, it's essentially a cult.

This series is best read in order, and fans of Dallas and the crew will really enjoy this new installment.

This was fantastic. Robb is 52 books into this series and this was one of my favorites. The case took over this book. There are some of the family and friends moments I love with Eve, Roarke and the crew, but the murder and resulting case blew me away and I kept needing more. It‘s horrible and sad, but it felt so good seeing Eve put those bad guys away.

Johanna414 I‘ve always wanted to read this series, but the sheer number of books is intimidating! 4y

What a cool picture tucked on the backside of the dustjacket. I love secret images only found when you remove the dustjacket. Do you know of any? Tag me if you do I would love to see.
