This was a very interesting concept but I felt that it was stuck trying to decide if it wanted to be a technical/clinical book or a anecdotal/self help book. Some pieces tended to repeat but I did take in a few new ideas for self care.

There were some good basic concepts in this book but it was way too drawn out. The basic concept is to try and use positivity from different sources and focus on good things and moments instead of negative ones. There were too many random abrupt examples and almost meditation guides throughout. I've read other books that have introduced these concepts more concisely and entertainingly.
This was a good exercise for me today, as I am feeling a bit crappy. Things that are making me happy are: spending more time with the dog, my partner, cooking, and slowly working on the garden. And having an amazing dance teacher who although the studio is closed is continuing to provide (very different) lessons in the interim, and spent the first few weeks of lockdown celebrating a different student every day 🥰

Probably my favorite “self-help“ reference book. It focuses on mindfulness and “taking in the good.“ Rick Hansen offers methods for taking in the good in any situation, with even the most painful pasts. It suggests that you don't need outside forces to be happy, but it's all within you.
While I was shopping for the OTHERS, I somehow managed to get a little something for ME. It was completely unintentional and NO ONE is more surprised than MYSELF!😜
I am now the proud owner of a Kindle Fire made handy-dandy with Alexa included. Oh my!
Just one more way to buy books!!
