That was a satisfying vacation thriller with lots of twists. I kept guessing until the end and I enjoyed the various storylines and it all coming neatly together in the end. Also I loved the setting, the Temple and the Old Bailey in London.

I‘m all caught upon the Maeve Kerrigan series so while I wait I decided to read this standalone thriller. It seems straightforward at first, but of course, there are twists! It kept me guessing to the end. I liked this one a lot, especially that the MC wasn‘t helpless. I heard they are making a TV show of this in the UK and I hope it comes to one of the US streamers.

TrishB The new one is out on 2 March 😁 2y
MallenNC @TrishB I can‘t wait! I only read the last one recently so this is the first time I‘ve had to wait. 2y

So many twists and turns in this one think I‘ve got whiplash!! And Ingrid certainly made some dodgy decisions. A good read 👍🏻

Finished this week for a book tour review, this is my first book from this author. It‘s definitely dark & full of twists & turns that made the near 500 pages fly by. I did figure out the big plot twist well before the end (& had to yell at Ingrid, the MC,quite a lot about it & some of her decisions) but overall, I enjoyed it. Paired here with a take-out spinach-mushroom pizza 🍕(it was that kind of week) but there‘s a recipe on my post for a ⬇️

DebinHawaii … delicious Creamy Garlic Pizza Sauce like the one on the pizza in the pic. Link to my full review & sauce recipe: http://kahakaikitchen.blogspot.com/2021/09/the-book-tour-stops-here-review-of_24... 3y

I‘ve read all of Jane Casey‘s Maeve Kerrigan series and found them to be excellent reads. This standalone is a slow burn with lots of tension. The stalker claims he is the only one who can save her. The characters are well-developed but they don‘t know who they can trust. The book has an intriguing plot with lots of twists and turns and a good ending. If you love gripping psychological thrillers then you will enjoy this one!

I've read most of the books from the author's Maeve Kerrigan series so a standalone book was appealing. It was a great read, with lots of twists & neither the MC nor the reader is sure who to trust. The tension is ratcheted up slowly, & I liked that the MC didn't fall apart, she stood up for herself & worked it all out in the end. The only thing which detracted was the death of a pet, I hate that. 4🌟

TrishB I hate that too 😞 3y

Well this was quite a twisted story. It leads you on quite a journey to the ending. The plot is a slow burn and I did figure out who was behind it before she did. The ending was good and finished the story off well. I did struggle with Ingrid though, some of her decisions were really questionable. A clever thriller with a twist or two along the way. #Netgalley 3*

This is a gripping psychological thriller no doubt about it. There are plenty of twists and turns - it‘s definitely a real rollercoaster of a ride. I never knew where it was heading next. I did have to suspend belief at times but I was desperate to find out where it was all heading. With a great cast of characters, an intricate plot and an engaging style of writing, it made for an exciting read. #Pigeonhole
