so-soI guess there was a reason I stopped reading her ice cream series. I picked up this first book in a new series (food and bookstore sounds great), but WOW I did not like this MC. She was so annoying and the worst kind of amateur detective. Also a lot of repetitive thoughts. I think I‘ll pass on anymore.

pickI think I maybe loved this because Keaton and Koby are living my dream life owning a Bookstore Cafe in a town outside of Seattle. I'm home with a headache today, but it's hard to feel bad with a cozy and a doggie at my feet.
This is my night book. So far it‘s a lot of fun. A former librarian and her twin brother are opening a bookstore/cafe when a friend is murdered. Of course they must investigate.
pickCollette has another winning cozy mystery series with this first in the Books & Biscuits mystery series. Twins Keaton and Koby reunite after a lifetime apart and open up a soul food restaurant and bookstore. But, their opening is shadowed by a friend‘s death. There are parts of this one that didn‘t quite connect, but I loved the book references and the perseverance of the characters. There are recipes in the back too!

Good news: I really like BODY AND SOUL FOOD so far! I think I prefer Abby Collette when she focuses on the community side of her cozy mysteries, and she does a lot of that here. I‘ve enjoyed meeting Keaton and Koby‘s extended family and friend group.
Time for a new book! BODY AND SOUL FOOD is my Abby Collette tiebreaker. Will I enjoy it as much as A DEADLY INSIDE SCOOP, or will I find it choppy and random like A GAME OF CONES? Stay tuned to find out!
I WILL say it‘s off to a promising start, and I love the setup. It follows twins, separated in infancy and recently reunited, who open a café bookstore together.
pickSo it was a bit bumpy in places, but they talked about food and books so I‘m giving it a pick. Reunited twins decide to go into business together and open a bookstore & attached soul food restaurant. Meanwhile, a close friend dies under mysterious circumstances and the twins find themselves on the suspect list. It‘ll be interesting to see how the series matures. Certainly has lots of potential and it‘s a diverse entry in the cozy genre.
