Just finished our last #LMPBC #GroupM book! I see what ya‘ll were saying. This was okay. A quick read about high schoolers, magic and the devil. Tess is trying to work hard for her and her sister‘s future when rich and pretty boy Eliot comes into her library and the devil wreaks havoc on their lives. Although book was just okay, I absolutely loved the ending! Will send out in mail soon!⭐️⭐️⭐️

It's still a pick but a very low one! I won't give up on Tori Bovalino though, because Not Good for Maidens was amazing IMO. I definitely want to read my throat an open grave soon, I love how she always manages to write gorey scenes that just set the mood! The vibes are always super creepy in her stories, and I love that!
Started the tagged book last night and I'm eager to get to all the gory stuff 🤩
Hmm hard to tell if I liked this book. I definitely had a lot of thoughts while reading it but it was super gory. Definitely not a book I wouldn‘t have picked up without #LMPBC. And I don‘t want to say too much.
I mailed this out on Thursday. So should be there some time next week Kate!
Got this in the mail at some point last week. (I forget to check the mail). Can‘t wait to pick this one up!
I‘m still reading my March book, but hoping to finish it today and get out in the mail early this week.

I loved Bovalino‘s take on the “demon in the book” trope, and the freshness she brought to it! The relationship between Tess and Truth is a bit like the diet version of Addie LaRue‘s affair with her demon, and could have been explored better. That said, though, this book treats the themes of need and longing intelligently and is probably more about those than just the plot itself.
So May has been a wash for “actual reading” but acquiring is a different story…
I “fell over” in a bookstore and several op shops 🤷🏻♀️
Anyway, this one has a secret tunnel under a school library and a devil in a book bound prison. It had me at “he‘ll murder in the stacks”
An enjoyable read about two students while in a school library stumble upon a ancient book. Then the devil is accidentally freed. The rest of the book has the two students trying to capture him and return to the book.
I have been Milan this weekend, so haven't done much reading. But I have been enjoying it.
#Illumicrate August 2021.
1. Reading journal/planner
2. Book pot
3. Teacup & saucer
4. Page tab Post-it‘s
5. Washi tape
6. Monthly pin
Signed book with sprayed edges & lovely end papers.
I have to say … other than the teacup … I LOVE everything!! I can‘t believe it‘s September already!!
The premise- revolving around a special book in a hidden part of a library- plus the author‘s first name really caught my attention! The #audiobook is well-performed, with unique voices given to both narrators. Tess and Eliot both are teens working through family issues when Tess‘ work-study at the library brings them together. Soon, they accidentally wake up a demon- with all the violence to follow! A few too many dream sequences! #AudioColoring
