Pickpick

Low pick; the narrator Greg was almost insufferable but I was definitely Team Earl! Read for the Banned Book category of #AsheCoNCReadingChallenge #Aug2023 Book77

LeafingThroughLife Greg was definitely so insufferable. I only managed to give this a “so-so” because of him. 🤦‍♀️ 3w
BkClubCare @LeafingThroughLife - could/should be a book to be discussed, perhaps so that Greg‘s behavior could be explored through his grief and approach to human relationships. Even just why the adults loved the video and the students didn‘t would be an amazing conversation? Anyway, I thought Earl was terrific and deserved better (so did Rachel) 3w

lil1inblue Full disclosure - I bailed on this one at 35% because it triggered me. Hard. However, had I read this book in high school, it would have helped me unlock so much. It would have been so valuable when I was still in the trauma. Just knowing I wasn't alone in my feelings would have done wonders. 3w
Scochrane26 @lil1inblue I can understand why you couldn‘t get through. I think I put it off for a few years for the same reason, even though I‘ve read more traumatizing stories & heard irl stories. I‘m also glad it‘s out there for YA. 2w
