The Vinegar Tasters is an ancient Chinese painting depicting the philosophy of Confucius (life is sour),Buddha ( life is bitter), & Lao-tse,(life is harmony/happiness) through the allegory of these three vinegar tasters.

GingerAntics @TheBookHippie same!!! I am so glad we decided to read this one. This book is great. Yeah, he did put a lot into what seemed like a short number of pages. He doesn‘t beat around the bush and I feel like any plot this book has is far more focused on the philosophy. Pooh sort of weaves his way through that, instead of the other way around. 2y

We‘ll be done with Sophie‘s World in about two weeks. Do we want to take a week off or jump right into Pooh?

JaclynW I agree with @ravenlee MORE!!! Ha! I am one chapter behind where you currently are. I am still reading, just having a heck of a time making it to the discussions. 😞 I love the insights it has brought me and have had several discussions at home with my husband and kids. I would love a week or two off before starting the next book. And I am happy to go along with whatever is decided. Two chapters have mostly worked for me - except for when-> 3y

JaclynW I think it will be a short chapter and it is a really long one!! Haha!! I will do my best to keep up either way. Thanks for picking thoughtful books. This one has my wheels turning and turning!! 3y

It has no digital videos and they were getting ready to just do drive up service again because of the new covid surge.I‘ve actually never been inside this library before. They sent us our cards in the mail when we moved during the pandemic. I‘ve just been using their digital catalog so far. 3y

It‘s the same price on VUDU and I know how that one works… I don‘t really trust that one as much since bloody Walmart bought it, but my other choice is AppleTV. It‘s the same price there, too. 🤷🏼‍♀️ 6 of one, half a dozen of another. It‘s mostly which major company do you hate the least. 🤣😂😂 3y

GingerAntics @TheBookHippie I usually do vudu, honestly. My vudu library is pretty big. Sometimes I do Apple TV if that‘s the only place carrying something. Vudu is just miss user friendly on more devices. 3y

GingerAntics @JaclynW yes. This edition just has both together. You can either get them together or get the two books separately. I don‘t think there is any difference. I found this addition on the creepiest place on Earth (Amazon). @TheBookHippie where did you order yours from? 3y
