My beautiful home library is slowly being taken over by gamers... we got Lane a switch and he's loving it (as is his dad 🤣)

I have a new reading buddy. That is a queen sized bed. And that is the only place he will fit right now 😂 I have not figured out how I, myself, am also going to fit on the bed to go to sleep. I need to rethink my Christmas wish lists next time... #noregretsthough

Lreads Ha Ha! He‘s so cute and squishy! ☺️😍 5y
TheLibrarian He‘s adorable!!! And such a great movie. 5y

The boys finished their June reading challenge of 300 minutes and got their $5 rewards from Half Price Books. They each picked a Pokémon book and a chapter book - the 6yo made me promise to read it to him.

wanderinglynn That‘s awesome! 🙌🏻 Well done! 5y

When at the Kinokuniya in San Jose the kids always make a beeline for the Pokémon books. Then again most of the books here are in Japanese.

GatheringBooks i am sure there are titles from singapore too? sherlock sam? 6y

1. You all 😆 My upbringing wants me to say y'all, but it's never really felt natural.
2. 2--again, born and raised in SW Missouri!
3. Litsy, Serial Reader, Hoopla, Goodreads, Overdrive, Kindle, Audible, and my local library app
4. I promised my little I'd play Pokemon with him. So, that'll probably be until his bedtime. Maybe Game of Thrones with my hubby after. We're on Season 4!
5. @Jess_Read_This @merelybookish @GingerAntics if you want!

April Bookstagram Day 24
These are echoes of my childhood. Back when I didn't have a gaming console and easy access to the internet (and omg, that PokéDex electronic toy was hella pricey!) I used to borrow Pokémon Guidebook like this from a friend. I eventually found a similar copy back in 2014 and I just HAD to have it.
This is my *very loose interpretation for #FearYourNovelApril : Magical Creatures. and #LILColorBlast : Yellow (bec Pikachu)?

It's not a bookish post at all but I'm kinda pleased with my very first #amigurumi - a little Pikachu for my boy who's going to turn 7 next week (shhh don't tell)

GypsyKat So cute!!!!! 😍 7y

2BR02B Cute! I've always wanted to learn crochet so I could make these. 7y
readinginthedark ❤️Well done! 7y
Readingismyescape Adorable. Great job!! 7y
Cortg I love it! I really want to pick up knitting or crocheting. I‘m kinda scared though. 7y
batsy It's so cute! 7y
sarielizbeth I love amigurumi! I started a couple years ago and can't stop! 7y
RealLifeReading @2BR02B I started learning to crochet about 6 months ago, learning from YouTube! I think amigurumi isn't for beginners though! I tried it once when I was still doing very basic crochet and it was a disaster 😂 7y
RealLifeReading @Cortg starting out can be tricky but there are so many amazing YouTube videos that really help out beginners. That's how I learnt to crochet six months ago! Check out The Crochet Crowd on YouTube. The best thing about crochet is if you make a mistake you just unravel it easily and work it out again! 7y
RealLifeReading @sarielizbeth it's a bit more fidgety than I'm used to because of the smaller stitches but it was fun to make! I'll have to try more! 7y

I got a Nintendo DS and Pokémon game for Christmas, and as my starter I chose Litten, in honor of all my favorite Littens here on Litsy!

Cortg I showed my 16 YO your DS. He said “Oh, so perfect!” 7y
MiyakoBunny I also got an updated DS the 3DS XL 😍😍😍 it‘s a lot smoother than the other DSs I have 👾👾👾 and all the retro games make it even more awesome 😱😱😱😱 #GamersUnite lol 😂 7y
Molly_the_mezzo @Cortg Well, what is better than the approval of teenagers? 😜 7y

#uncannyoctober day 23: #😂
In a store full of books, the kids always manage to find the corner with the toys

RadicalReader @RealLifeReading so not much of a reader I‘m guessing 7y
Jeg My grandson is the same. Same goodies here too. He loves Pokémon. We have a local book shop we take him to every time he visits. He is allowed to chose a book. However he always gravitates to the toys. I haven‘t given in—yet! 7y
Mommamanzi ALWAYS! Good thing they are super cute 😜 7y

BucklingBookshelves It had been a long time since I brought my toddler to our local indie and the last time I still had him strapped into his car seat/carrier. That was NOT the case when we went a couple weeks ago! Oh boy! I actually forgot how many toys there were til I saw him make a beeline for them 🙊 I think I‘m going solo next time! 7y
RealLifeReading @RadicalReader actually they do like books and reading. My younger isn't really reading by himself yet (he only knows a few sight words) but enjoys being read to 7y
RealLifeReading @Jeg While I understand why bookstores do this, I never buy toys from bookstores and usually let the kids pick out a book instead. 7y
RealLifeReading @Bucklingbkshelf haha it's so much easier when kids can be strapped in! Sometimes I miss those days 😂 7y

Any other Pokémon Go players out there?
We first became Pokémon fans when our now 23 year old was a little guy.
Pokémon Go is the first phone game I have installed & played.

alanacristin I love that it gives me something to play while walking around town 😃 though it's much easier to progress in it here in Tokyo where I'm surrounded by pokestops than back in Alabama where I'm from 😂 is your son playing too?? You guys could battle the legendary Pokemon together 😍 my toddler supports from the sidelines 😝 7y
MCYmermaid Most of our family plays, including my husband, who excels at it, and both our sons, although the16 year old less so. Several of my booksellers at Mysterious Galaxy play as well! 7y
stargazerblue49 My hubby and I play! Keeps us moving! Great choice of team btw! 💙💙💙 7y
MCYmermaid Mystic all the way! 7y
