Witches of Brooklyn: What the Hex?!
Witches of Brooklyn: What the Hex?!: (A Graphic Novel) | Sophie Escabasse
7 posts | 15 read | 7 to read
Effie returns in this spellbinding sequel: a middle grade graphic novel about found family, friendship, and learning to embrace you who are! Could there be even MORE witches in Brooklyn?! Effie is EXCITED to meet so many witches, but what is going on with her friends? Suddenly Effie is no longer the newest kid in school and it seems like her friends are happy to grow their little group . . . but Effie isn't so sure. On top of that, learning magic is HARD WORK! Effie just wants to have fun being a witch, but her life in Brooklyn is about get WEIRD(er). The bewitching second book in the Witches of Brooklyn series captures what it means to be a friend, and how growing up can be a little less scary if you throw some magic in the mix.

A beautiful book with so many wonderful thoughts. It‘s a graphic novel and the illustrations are fantastic. There are sequels to this hope I read them soon

Cute and fun! I enjoyed the family dynamics (the aunts are my favorites) and the magic. I‘d love more backstory on Effie‘s family in the sequels!

I worked this weekend and didn‘t complain about it once! Which I felt deserved a little bookstore splurge… what else would I do with my weekend meal allowance money? 🤔

I liked the start of what I am assuming will be a series. An orphaned girl is taken to a house with older ladies. They are her grant aunts. They are herbalists and acupuncturists. But they are also witches. And our girl finds her powers awakening and wrecking a little havoc. I really enjoyed this read and can see boys, girls, young and old alike finding enjoyment in the tale.
