This is a great road-trip audiobook! Silly enough to make you laugh and wild enough to keep your attention 😊

Okay, I have a question for my fellow literature lovers:

I am writing a poem but I had some trouble finding a title.
I came up with a title but there is already a book with the same title.
Do you think that is a problem or should I just use the title if I like it?

Let me know down below! ⬇️
Thanks!! ❤️

Reading about the local wildlife.

LibrarianRyan This is my favorite kids Hiaasen book. Everyone tries to stump me about frozen iguana trivia and are surprised I already know. And it's all because I read this book years ago. Loved IT! 5y
Sharpeipup @LibrarianRyan loving it so far! 5y

• Middle school kid help his dad (a professional animal wrangler) protect dangerous (and some not so dangerous) swamp reptiles and other wildlife in southern Florida 🦎 The trouble starts when they team up with a “reality“ TV show called Expedition Survival!

LibrarianRyan such a fun book. this Jan Floridian had the Frozen iguana problem again. 5y

#audiobookwalk in the hot, hot sun because (unusually for me) I slept in this morning. Foolish, foolish me! The hot and humid was definitely appropriate for listening to this Hiaasen, read by James Van Der Beek, who does a great job with the narration.

Crazeedi The puppies will be ready for their water bowls! And you too!! Stay cool!🔥 5y
Aimeesue @Crazeedi Oh, they definitely were! I don't usually start out after 8 AM in the summer, but if I do, we stick to the shade. We may look ridiculous zigging and zagging from shady spot to shady spot, but we do not care! 5y
Aimeesue Also: why are parasols not a thing any more? I'mma start them trending again. 5y
jillrhudy @Aimeesue The pups would eat the parasol when you aren't looking. 5y
Crazeedi @Aimeesue go for it! A great idea! 5y

This was super fun! I really wish I had read it earlier on in the school year because my Lit Lunch book club would have looooooved it! It‘s top of the list for next year.

My 11 yr old daughter picked this for us to listen to in the car from the Juvenile Fiction section on Libby, so I didn't know anything about what we were listening to. It's great! The story introduced a teen character with a physically abusive father which led to a conversation about abuse between my kids and I. Reading books with my kids has kickstarted numerous talks we never would have had!

I unabashedly LOVE Carl Hiaasen and I love that he does middle grade as well as his adult books. The feel is similar, we're still in the Everglades and nature is as big of a character as his people are! James Van Der Beek has such a great hold on Hiaasen's tone that I was smiling the whole time. A great intro to Hiaasen's work if you're leery but a great story about a wildlife show gone awry in the wild Everglades!

LibrarianRyan This is my favorite Hiaasen book. 6y
IamIamIam @LibrarianRyan I love that he can do middle grade as easily as adult books! I really liked Flush and Skink - No Surrender but my favorites are Nature Girl and 6y
LibrarianRyan @IamIamIam I have only read his adult short stories. I have a few but haven‘t got to them yet. I still need to read Flush and Scat. But I do love Skink 6y

Highly entertaining 😊 Love how Hiaasen blends humor, animal rights, environmentalism, and reality tv in this caper. Wahoo, Tuna, and the gang deliver in this treat.

Lea Agree! 8y
monkeygirlsmama I've picked this book up off the children's shelf at the library easily half a dozen times, yet I've never read it. Must remedy that. 8y
Christy2318 @monkeygirlsmama I think Hoot is my favorite of his kid's books but I've liked all of them. 8y

This is the sign next to my favorite parking space at #MyLocalLibrary. #riotgrams

I'm in central Texas so normally it is warm here. But this morning it is 25 degrees & the wind chill is 13. Florida sounds excellent right now. #dreamingofawarmerclimate

Stephanie-Anne ❄️❄️❄️Brrrrrr!!! Yes, this is why we endure 105 degrees in August. Texans aren't built for this. But perfect weather for curling up with our kitties and reading books! 😸📚 8y
Christy2318 @Stephanie-Anne - Absolutely! I'm a summer person. Give me 100 degrees and Schlitterbahn any day! 8y
Stephanie-Anne I live in the town of Schlitterbahn ❤ I drove past it five minutes ago 😉🌊 8y
Christy2318 @Stephanie-Anne - Color me green. I would live there all summer if I lived that close. 🏊🏽‍♀️🏄‍♀️ 8y
