I love this world and this story tied in beautifully to Six Crimson Cranes. I hope the author will give us more stories from this world.

A day late but I wanted to join in because reading everyone's answers has become a highlight of my Friday's.
1) Birds enjoying as my backyard tree starts to return.
2) The smell of my indoor blooming jasmine
3) Harry Potter movie night with my nieces
4) Little surprises in my garden as spring comes
5) Happy kitties in sunbeams

I finished this book and just started crying. The family dynamic in Elizabeth Lim's books are amazing. The sisterhood, the loyalty of her friend and just Channi (the protagonist) is chef's kiss. I read this right after reading Six Crimson Cranes and The Dragon's Promise and I'm so happy I did. My heart is in pieces but I love it 😄❤️
A very happy Christmas to all my Litsy friends! 🎄🎅🏻💚❤️💚❤️ I hope everyone is having a great day so far! 🥰 I just wanted to share my Christmas book haul! Nick really spoiled me this year! 💕📚 #christmasbookhaul
Some people recommended reading this one after Six Crimson Cranes, but I didn't do that. I think it might have been a bit more enjoyable if I had known who these characters were already and then getting their story. I found it a little boring at the beginning, but somewhere in the middle, I started caring a bit more. The ending really sets up some interesting things that I hope Six Crimson Cranes touches on. I'll have to get to that book soon.
Bk2 of my recent #BookMail is the latest YA Fantasy from the author of Six Crimson Cranes. A story of two sisters, one beautiful, the other a monster. Channi wasn‘t born a monster, after her father sacrificed her to the Demon Witch shes cursed with a serpents face. Her sister Vanna is the only person who doesn‘t see a monster, beautiful inside & out she‘s about to be auctioned off to a wealthy suitor & only Channi can save her from his cruelty.
Channi, cursed with a snake‘s face, only wants to protect her sister, Vanna, from both the demon witch that first cursed her & a contest auctioning Vanna off to a suitor. These two threats converge into a battle that threatens everything.
Quite the interesting story! World building was great. I loved the sisters‘ relationship. Pacing felt off, & the romance felt forced. But this was a fun read that bumped Six Crimson Cranes up my TBR! 🌕🌕🌕🌗🌑
