The Inheritance Games meets Ocean’s Eleven in this cinematic heist thriller where a cutthroat competition brings together the world’s best thieves and one thief is playing for the highest stakes of all: her mother's life. At only seventeen years old, Ross Quest is already a master thief, especially adept at escape plans. Until her plan to run away from her legendary family of thieves takes an unexpected turn, leaving her mother’s life hanging in the balance. In a desperate bid, she enters the Thieves’ Gambit, a series of dangerous, international heists where killing the competition isn’t exactly off limits, but the grand prize is a wish for anything in the world—a wish that could save her mom. When she learns two of her competitors include her childhood nemesis and a handsome, smooth-talking guy who might also want to steal her heart, winning the Gambit becomes trickier than she imagined. Ross tries her best to stick to the family creed: trust no one whose last name isn’t Quest. But with the stakes this high, Ross will have to decide who to con and who to trust before time runs out. After all, only one of them can win.

I liked the idea of the book and engaging writing (making you eager to see where it was headed). It was a story full of action and quite a bit of disbelief (some plot points felt too convenient) :)

Thieves Gambit follows Rosalyn ‘Ross‘ Quest, a 17-year-old highly skilled thief. This story hits the ground running and takes the reader on a wild ride filled with twists, turns, high stakes heists, danger, tentative alliances, betrayal and exotic locations. It has a very cinematic feel to it. Thieves Gambit is a fast-paced, fun, entertaining, thrilling read. I definitely burned the midnight oil with this one. I can't wait for the sequel.

This is twisty heist action for the teen set. I don't appreciate—but completely understand—the cliffhanger ending. Rights were sold for two books, though the second doesn't seem to have a title or publication date yet.

This is a novel full of twists and turns with some big surprises and revelations along the way. There were some moments in which the narrative seemed a little slow, but for the most part this novel kept me hooked, wanting to know how the characters would overcome the obstacles they faced. The characters themselves were intriguing. I liked the diversity within the group as well as the fact that each one brought something different to the story.

What a captivating, fast paced read! I read somewhere this has already been optioned, so I‘m looking forward to seeing this as a movie. The characters were all interesting and I had a good time seeing which way out MC was going to go. I was able to guess one part of the ending, but not the other. Looking forward to a book 2!

This was a quick pace book and I enjoyed the characters. I enjoyed the different heists the teenagers had to go through and how they worked together and also against each other to win the game. I enjoyed the writing and it was a fun ride to see who was going to win each phase of the Gambit and how. The only thing for me is it ended quite abruptly. However the book did leave an opening for a second book. I would recommend this book.

This book releases in September (2023) and it was a decent page turner. This is kinda a mash up of The Hunger Games meets Oceans 11. I've also heard its been optioned into an upcoming movie and I can see how that would totally work. Keep your eye out for this YA read #ARC #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
