2) Interview with author Ron Chernow at Mark Twain House about his recent biography of Mark Twain.
3)graduation this past Wednesday. Seniors do a “ walk through” & go to the elementary schools, walk the hallways lined with students & teachers
4) Our HS literary magazine, Voices

My heart is heavy today. Tears are riding at the surface, blood pressure is elevated, finding motivation is hard.

But I will not let them steal all my joy! They want me to give up, to say it‘s too much (and it is) but I WILL keep trying.

I did! Willa for a lot of reasons. Same initial as my old name. Feminine version of William, “strong protector.“ Partial homage to a woman named Wilma who was very important in my life but no way was I naming myself Wilma. (She quite agreed. 😂) I came across it in a book and liked it.

2. Most of them were dreadful but I had two hamsters named Haba and Sima, which were taken from a Zipha Keatley Snyder book.

📚This is my stack of 14 books to read between May 26 and September 1. The library copy of “Kristin Lavransdatter” is only a place holder, since I actually own it on Kindle. All the others are from my physical shelves. 📚

Loving the Shakespearen twist on thoughts and feelings. And trying, although not always successfully, to concentrate on TODAY. What must be done, what act of resistance, finding the joy, etc. to avoid feeling overwhelmed and to fight spiraling into despair. Creating a mood board out of things I find when scrolling seems to help.

Two of my favorite Indie bookstores that I love are RiverBend Bookshop-2 locations, but I visit the West Hartford store as it is closer, & RJ Julia, also 2 locations but I visit the Madison store every summer & enjoy a lobster roll at a nearby fish restaurant. 📚🦞

1. Tank and the Bangos was the opening act for
2. Trombone Shorty - between the 2 acts it was 3 hours of me standing, singing and dancing. Just what I needed.
3. Babysitting my granddaughter, Charley, overnight.
4. Being introduced to a fabulous book/buddy read.
5. Finally, it‘s scientifically accurate to say that the Irish have large heads! My kids and I have a very hard time finding hats that fit.
