January #BookspinBingo is a LOT of me just trying to catch up on my #192025 challenge. I‘m still in the twenties. The NINETEEN-twenties! I‘m literally 100 years behind. 🤦🏻‍♀️

TheAromaofBooks Well, your bingo card looks fantastic anyway 😂 12mo

20% of the way into my 1921 pick for #192025, I discovered that it was *actually* published in 1920 🤦🏻‍♀️. I‘ll go ahead and finish it since it was also one of my #bookspin picks, and then pivot to the tagged book (which, quite frankly, sounds more appealing anyway). #ImADummy

julieclair Ooohhh.... great choices! Any would be fine , but I think I have a slight preference for either Inimitable Jeeves or Three Men in a Boat. 1y
Chrissyreadit any are fine with me!! 1y
TheAromaofBooks These are all fine with me!! I've read a few of them, but loved all the ones I've read so I am 100% down for a reread. So I think you can take your pick!! 1y
mabell @julieclair @Chrissyreadit @TheAromaofBooks Sounds good! Let‘s go with Inimitable Jeeves this time 😄 1y
Chrissyreadit @mabell @TheAromaofBooks @julieclair i have to order a feel good happy book I think- so i will search the internet and choose a few to see what sounds good. Also part of this is due to the fact that i‘m still waiting for my bookshelves to be delivered (since April) and my books are in disarray🤣 1y

Oops, I almost forgot to post a review of this. It was Heyer‘s first published novel and I think it shows a bit in that there is a distinct lack of focus in the story. There‘s a lot going on with a lot of characters who all get fairly equal pages devoted to them. It took me a little while to be sure who I was supposed to be cheering for. But, as always, she creates great characters and fun adventures. #Romantsy

Tamra That cover! 1y
batsy Love that cover too. Heyer will always be reliable comfort reading during busy or tough times, I think 💜 1y

I could tell this was Georgette Heyer‘s first novel - she hasn‘t quite fine tuned her writing style and storytelling expertise in this one. Still a fun read though!

I‘ve had a lot of luck at the book swap library lately. Just look at this stack! All books I‘ve never read before.

Ugh. It‘s 4am and I‘ve been awake for half an hour. Jetlag!! Hopefully reading a bit will help.

JacqMac Jet lag is rough. I hope you get over it quickly. 6y
Jeg The best thing about jet lag for me is the extra reading time it gives me. More coming up soon when we wing it to SAN Fran then over to Sth Carolina to visit granddaughter. 6y

A disgraced Lord who took the blamed for his brother's cheating at cards turns to life as a highwayman. Then he stumbles across a damsel in distress as she is about to be kidnapped. What unfolds is Georgette Heyer's first novel. Definitely working on getting her legs in this one and managing to sparkle anyway!

MayJasper I love Georgette Heyer. I read many of her books several decades ago voraciously. I recently came back to a couple and enjoyed them even more. Feel good books, excellent mood raisers. 8y

Finally got around to reading Heyer's first book, and it did not disappoint! Tracy's habit of abducting women and forcing his attentions on them was a bit off-putting though. Why is Jack all like, oh that Tracy, he's terrible to women but not a bad bloke overall? No, Jack! It's terrible, and he's terrible! So pick up your sword and duel this guy to the death already! Casual mistreatment of women aside, a very enjoyable story.
