I'm putting #May and #June together since they're part of the same series. My favorites on consecutive months, particularly Morning Star, which was spectacular! ⭐⭐⭐ to Golden Son, ⭐⭐⭐⭐ to Morning Star.

pickI found this compellingly strange, beautiful in one moment, ridiculous the next, and totally and completely heartbreaking. Part 1 is a fragmented portrait of an on-line life, the style mirroring the fleeting connections, and yearning to belong. After a tragic family event in part 2 shocks our protagonist into ‘real‘ life, it becomes something entirely different. A story of love and grief. Unique, creative and yes weird, but really, really good.
I read a lot of 4 star books in #May, but only one 5 star book, but what a book it was. Totally loved this book that revealed a long held secret about a star-crossed love around the time of the First World War and revealed so wonderfully in the book. One of those books you couldn‘t sleep for thinking about it afterwards.
