Blood for Blood
Blood for Blood | Ryan Graudin
"Wild and gorgeous, vivid and consuming. I loved it! I can't wait for the sequel."--Laini Taylor, New York Times bestselling author of the Daughter of Smoke & Bone trilogy, on Wolf by Wolf The action-packed, thrilling sequel to Ryan Graudin's Wolf by Wolf. There would be blood.Blood for blood.Blood to pay.An entire world of it. For the resistance in 1950s Germany, the war may be over, but the fight has just begun. Death camp survivor Yael, who has the power to skinshift, is on the run: the world has just seen her shoot and kill Hitler. But the truth of what happened is far more complicated, and its consequences are deadly. Yael and her unlikely comrades dive into enemy territory to try to turn the tide against the New Order, and there is no alternative but to see their mission through to the end, whatever the cost. But dark secrets reveal dark truths, and one question hangs over them all: how far can you go for the ones you love? This gripping, thought-provoking sequel to Wolf by Wolf will grab readers by the throat with its cinematic writing, fast-paced action, and relentless twists.

Independent Reading: Post #1 (pt 2)
However, the Hitler Yael killed was not really Hitler and she has now killed someone similar to herself – another skinshifter. Felix, Adele‘s sister, and Luka, the love interest, are also with her since they are running from the SS. So far, Yael has escaped from the SS with Felix and Luka and finds someone from her past. The resistance is making progress and Yael is fighting to keep her humanity.

In Wolf by Wolf, a young woman with a unique ability is participating in a Germany to Tokyo motorcycle race to complete a specific mission in this 1955 world in which Hitler won and still rules. This follow up starts immediately after the first book and is possibly even more thrilling. Both are griping, interesting, well-written. I look forward to reading more from this author.

This duology is amazing!

This story continues where it ended in Wolf by Wolf. Yael is trying to survive a world where Hitler won. She joined the resistance and her mission is to assassinate Hitler.

This story was packed with action and even itty bitty romance. I loved all the characters and the writing was so good.

On a bus headed to Astoria for the Dark Art Beer Festival. Stout and porter beers for daaaaays. Won the tickets this morning from a Facebook contest.

This series is everything! I love it and am trying to drag it out because I don‘t want it to end.

Update: got a beer and new koozie so changed the pic. 😊

3. Best Sequel You Read

I think this is the only sequel I read that wasn‘t the 3rd in a series. This duology doesn‘t seem to be very well-known, but I thought it was above average YA. The premise is pretty unique and the main character is well-developed.

Just devoured the sequel to Wolf by Wolf! This book was just as good as the first with a seriously bad-ass girl protagonist and a great slow-burn romance!

A thrilling, alt-history YA duology. I enjoyed the second book in this series, which ups the stakes and has a few good twists. Although I found the resolution to be slightly rushed, overall the plot was exciting and the characters engaging. Yael's "strong female character" checked a lot of YA boxes, but (thankfully) didn't sink too far into cliche. Recommend for fans of The Man in the High Castle, Hunger Games, and Red Rising.

Kimberlone @Saknicole you would really like this series! 7y

These books are great. The first one felt more action-adventure (motorcycle race through exotic locations complete with betrayals and hijinks). 'Blood for Blood' felt more like a 'war book/Holocaust story'. Be prepared: it will make you cry. The ending was beautifully written.

Merethebookgal I really enjoyed these books, too. Did you read the prequel novella? 8y

Mehso-so

Ugh. I needed to read this to find out how this duology wrapped up. Note to future writers. There should never be a romance between a death camp survivor and a golden boy of the Third Reich. You can justify and try and delve into the boy's background but it's still too many shades of ick.

IndyHannaJones I liked that part of their relationship. I'm the Granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor. What my Grandma has expressed to me is that there was a lot of gray areas. One of the SS guards in the camp where they held her father would smuggle him cigarettes. I liked that Yael could see the human in him despite the labels of the face of the Aryan race and see a scared boy-just like Yael struggled with her identity and how she longed for people to see her 8y

#DecemberTBR: My goal is to read 10 books this month to reach my goal of 100 books in 2016! I only wrote down 6 on my TBR list because I NEVER actually follow my lists... I read based on my mood so my list changes constantly, but I'm going to try to stick with these 6 and add 4 more based on what I'm feeling 😂#bookwormproblems. #seasonsreadings2016

kalinichta I can never follow a list when it comes to books. My reading I'd always based on mood and whim. Which, unfortunately, means I tend to abandon a lot of books. I'm a very messy reader. 8y
