This historical fiction novel is so intriguing....
⭐⭐ I know I'm in the minority here, but I'm just not a fan of this one.
⭐⭐⭐ Like Gathering Blue, I liked the story in this book better than the story in The Giver. And I REALLY liked that Jonas was in this one. It seems to be beginning to tie the series together. The ending of this book was really sad though; I would have rathered a happier ending to this one. 😒
Status: 52%. 😎 Feeling slightly proud of myself. This book is good, but it's so MASSIVE.
⭐⭐⭐ I enjoyed this better than The Giver. I'm confused as to why there was no blue in the village though. And why the two books don't seem to connect except for a maybe mention of Jonas that I'm not even sure of. 😒
"What if the puzzle of the world was a shape you didn't fit into? And the only way to survive was to mutilate yourself, carve away your corners, sand yourself down, modify yourself to fit? ...How come we haven't been able to change the puzzle instead?" ...⭐⭐⭐⭐ Powerful book! Very relevant and thought-provoking.
