You cannot go wrong with Stanley Tucci! What a gem.
#BookMoods
One of my favorites read this year, Stanley Tucci‘s Taste #IncludesRecipes for food and drink, including one for a Timpano like the one in Big Night. 😋🍝
I loved it both in print & in audiobook form.
Before the first chapter begins, he‘s already making me want a Negroni
Ok if you like food or cooking even a little bit….this is so good (also it‘s hammock reading season!)
Stanley Tucci is a treasure. I LOVED his foodie memoir, both reading it & listening the audio. It‘s like chatting with a cool foodie friend & strikes the right balance between food, celebrity life & personal challenges. I‘m hosting this book for the virtual foodie book club I helped found 14 years ago & I‘m just slightly ashamed to say that I didn‘t make a recipe this round, still getting over my COVID fatigue. Instead I ordered mushroom risotto⬇️
I‘ve always loved Stanley Tucci (especially in Julie & Julia). He‘s had such an interesting life. I have not watched his show on CNN about food in Italy, which I should probably watch. Anyhow great book, a very fascinating life. #bookspin this gives me bingo for the month (in all fairness though the row had 3 free spaces). #nonfiction2022, prompt: I‘m adventurous (I have realized in reading this book I‘m not very adventurous in my eating).
I swear @NeedsMoreBooks Got me on a food memoir kick, when she told me I should read Buttermilk Graffiti by Edward Lee. Which was excellent in it's own right, this read was also excellent!
What a beautiful memoir of Stanley Tucci's life and the food that has come to define his life and career. Its excellent as an audiobook and I hope, he records.other audiobooks, I love his voice and his dry but witty humor.
A delightful mix of a nonfiction foodie book and a memoir! I didn‘t know what to expect, but I do feel like Tucci kept a great mix of great food writing, but also giving a peek into his life. It did inspire me to see food as creative and delish, more than just nutrition. This was a great book, and I think it will make a great recommendation! The upside of listening to it was his great narration. The downside was him reading all the recipes aloud.

I‘m no foodie but, almost all of this sounds yummy!
#bookspin One thing you have to know is that I hate it when my husband asks me what‘s for dinner. I almost drove off the road this morning as I listened:
“When he was young my father would, as all children do, ask the question, “Mom, what‘s for dinner?” His very sweet mother …. would respond with “Cazzi e patate” this translates directly as ⤵️
Starting the evening off with some audiobook reading (also my #DoubleSpin)
It hit 10° today, and it felt pretty durned good after the loooooong winter. I took a 5.5-mile #audiowalk through the aspen parkland and surrounding environs. There‘s still a ton of snow in the trees, but I got to enjoy plenty of filthy, spongy grass in the more exposed areas.
I also got through a huge chunk of TASTE. It‘s very good, aside from the horrifying pheasant-plucking date he and his wife remember so fondly.
Oh, this book ❤️ I spent so many summer days sitting outside and eating crabs with my family in NJ. We‘d sit there for hours each of us with a big pile of shells on our plates. Good times.
I‘m not a big foodie and I don‘t really love Italian pasta (I know, it‘s weird, what can I say?) but I LOVED this. The only way I could have loved this more is if I‘d listened to it. 💗💗💗
“I grew up in an Italian family that, not unusually, put great import on food.”

Not sure how much that is but yeah that sounds great 😂
I‘m loving the footnotes. I don‘t even like lamb that much but I‘m looking forward to hearing why the best he has ever had was in…Iceland???
absolutely enjoyed this book…had me salivating…couldnt get enough so now im watching his cnn special about italian food #audiophile #readinggoals #bibliotherapy
Apparently February was a struggle. I read zero physical books, but did listen to 5 audiobooks. And I realized I never posted my January wrap-up. Maybe I‘ll get my act together in March? #februarywrapup
Absolutely wonderful, a real delight to listen to. Tucci is equal parts charming and entertaining about his family and upbringing, his love for Italy and Italian-American traditions, and above all, food. He‘s also incredibly generous in his praise for those who have influenced him. His writing about his struggle with cancer was also incredible. Highly recommend.
My print copy of Taste came today so I‘m making Ragù Tucci to celebrate
13-4 Feb 2022 (audiobook)
I really like Stanley Tucci and I do find his obsession with food very endearing. I enjoyed his anecdotes of growing up as an Italian-American in upstate New York. But I am vegetarian and just found there was too much talk about meat and too many meat recipes for me. Decided my credit was probably best used elsewhere.
In a word, this book was delicious. Part memoir, part cookbook, and part love letter to food, I enjoyed listening to the author narrate his own book. His strength and resilience during cancer treatments was also very inspiring. Don‘t listen to this when you‘re hungry!
I love food memoirs and I liked this one. Maybe a teensy but slow in the middle, but finished strongly.
I listened to this, and loved Tucci as a narrator. It‘s the story of his life as told through the food he loves and learned to cook. I‘ve seen people mentioning that he does a good deal of name dropping, and that‘s true, but he‘s aware of it and even makes fun of himself for it. But if Ryan Reynolds was one of your best friends, wouldn‘t you talk about him occasionally? The only problem with audio is the lack of easy access to the recipes.
Inspired to pick up this book after watching a documentary series called, “Searching for Italy”. Where Stanley Tucci travels to various parts of Italy and samples each regions food. Made me want to book a trip and do the same. This book is a continuation of his love of food (especially Italian) throughout his life. There are some delicious sounding recipes in this book as well.
Audio building today. I am so hungry listening to this book
Started Taste and listening while I make spaghetti and meatballs ( recipe from Lucinda Scala Quinn‘s Mad Hungry cookbook) I bake my meatballs cuz they always end up meatsquares otherwise. I am laughing out loud to ST and his stories and I love listening to him but I‘m going to need a hard copy of this book for his recipes
Taste is a book of food memories, a celebration of cooking, and the ways that sharing a dinner table brings us closer together. An enormous part of the appeal is that it‘s actor Stanley Tucci‘s story. There are heartwarming moments, humor, and culinary experiences from his acting days that are definitely charming.
#litsycrafters Check in! Just taught myself how to crochet granny squares last night while listening to Stanley Tucci's book, Taste.
This book is all about how Stanley Tucci loves food; more specifically cuisine. He literally uses food as a guidance system to the major changes in his life. From childhood all the way through being diagnosed with and beating cancer. I highly recommend giving it a listen.

These two are my choices I finished on. The problem now is the library don't have them so I'll have to buy them I'm probably going to be taking this into febuary as the books are taking forever getting here.
@monalyisha 👍
More enjoyable than a food memoir sounds like it would be. Read by the author which made it more enjoyable. I enjoyed hearing about his Italian American childhood, his career, and his health battle and success. While I found much of it to be a bit tedious, Tucci lives a very privileged life, my husband enjoyed hearing how the other half lives. Recommended for any foodie, especially an Italian foodie.
Five big 'ol stars! Charming, funny, smart and simply marvelous, I adored reading this 'memoir with a side of foodie love' in both hardcover and audio! Loads of recipes too!

Finished this afternoon in what turned out to be a nightmare trip home. Left work early, with my afternoon clients changed to telehealth, because it was snowing (total about 6 in). 4 hrs to drive about 40 miles because of traffic. Northerners will laugh at us here in Ky.
I really liked this on audio, but I will need to find the physical book if I want to try the recipes. So much amazing food. Really enjoyed the fresh spin on a celebrity memoir.
I enjoyed the Audible version of Taste. I recommend especially if you love food.
A book as lovely and charming as the man who wrote it. I listened to the audio, which I highly recommend, but I need to get the print as well for all the amazing sounding recipes.
A terrific book with which to end the year.
Starting my last book of the year (tagged) now. Vivek Oji is what I have planned to start the new year.

I really enjoyed this and now want Stanley Tucci to be my friend. A memoir of family, friends, tradition and food. Many tales, rants and happy memories interspersed with recipes related to the narrative, some of which I have tried, other of which I will need to cook. Like sitting with a old friend over a nice glass of wine, interspersed with “Oh you need to try this” moments.
Stanley Tucci is making me hungry.
And thirsty.
And miss my family.
And I love him even more.
Edelweiss backlog... I don't have any specific interest in Stanley Tucci other than vague awareness of him as an actor. I haven't seen his food or travel shows or used his cookbooks.
Taste is a lighter read combining memoir and food writing. ↘️
My book haul from my husband along with the perfect record for reading. 📚❤️📚 I hope you all have a wonderful day filled with books and music and family! #readingsoundtrack
Merry Christmas! This one is for the littens living with velociraptors 🎁 🗑
Fantastic! Best memoir I‘ve read this year! Loved it on #audio as it is read by the author but I‘ll have to purchase it in paper too for the recipes sprinkled throughout. It is charming, witty, sophisticated—just like the author himself. Seriously, if you are a foodie, you will love this book!
Stanley Tucci‘s memoir of his life and the importance of food and family. Read by the author.
This was a charming listen. It really felt like sitting down for a cup of coffee with a friend. His intelligence and humor are easy to see, & he seems like a genuinely decent person. The timeline jumps around a bit & he name drops like there‘s no tomorrow. 😂 I‘ve learned I actually want a collection of nonfiction 2020 lockdown stories. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗
Absolutely loved it. A Must listen on audio. Even if you aren‘t a foodie, you are sure to love this one.
