I'd listened to a few of these stories before but they work much better as a collection, with the continuing themes of Jem's search for the lost Herondale, and his eternal love for Tessa and Will. Also there are two extra stories only in the print version! It's very much NOT an entrance into the series, but some enjoyable fan service as well as background info for future series.

This definitely had its moments, especially in the development of Alec as a character and in showing his commitment to Magnus. But the prose was often so weak, and Magnus, an immortal being with centuries of wisdom and experience, came off as TSTL. I had hoped to be reminded of why I love this series but mostly I was reminded of why I stopped reading it. 😔

I don't read a ton of Manga but I'm always disappointed. You start with a few pages of beautiful I color artwork and then goes to black and white. It's such a a letdown.

I didn't particularly like the artwork in this. Charlotte looked liked evil doll. I'm not sure what Magnus was supposed to look like. If I hadn't read original I don't think I would have been able to keep up with story.

Maybe Manga just isn't for me.

#ShadowhunterSunday In March I'll be reading The Infernal Devices Manga - Clockwork Angel, Clockwork Prince, and Clockwork Princess. I have this Trilogy that contains all 3.

Will also be reading a few pages of The Whitechapel Fiend and Nothing But Shadows. Both of these short stories from modern day #TalesfromtheShadowhunterAcademy include flashbacks to where I'm at in my Timeline Reread. ➰️

Thoughts on January and February rereads of The Infernal Devices: One of the things I love about Cassandra Clare novels is that she writes strong female characters. This series is full of them. It also has my all time favorite character Magnus Bane. Chapter of him and Henry inventing things was The Best. ➰️

Happy #ShadowhunterSunday! I've been wanting to do a complete reread of #Shadowhunters in Chronological order for awhile. Now that Cassandra Clare has announced The Last King of Faerie will be released in Spring 2026 its time.
