Tracey, you make me feel seen.
Inspired by Let America Be America Again by Langston Hughes. Thank you to @karisa and @cbee for reminding me of this. My heart hurts this week.

The irony of sitting on my patio in beautiful weather, with access to all the snacks and drinks I want while I finish reading this book was not lost on me. It's honestly still incredible what Geldof managed in a very short time period and even more amazing tjat most of tje world has totà‘y forgotten about it in the time since. #33-2025
Now here‘s a man who had me swooning when I watched him in Lady Sings the Blues and Dynasty, cheering for Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars Universe & then bawling my eyes out during Brian‘s Song. Fans still mention his speech as Chicago Bear Gale Sayers. “This movie accomplished something special by getting tens of millions of people to see the humanity we all share.” What a versatile actor, singer, painter and sweet man…still suave at 88!😍🙌🏻

Gotta Love Lucy! 🙌🏻This is the lost memoir Lucille Ball started to record at the height of her career. It was somehow forgotten & discovered 20+ years later after the passing of Lucy and Desi Sr. It‘s truly a love letter from this Hollywood legend to all her fans. Loved the sizzling Lucy & Desi love story and hearing about Lucy‘s enduring friendship with Vivian Vance. Daughter Lucie‘s narration & touching intro blew me away. (Published 1996)
An odd format, described as a novel but containing much biography and thoughts on the life of a writer. Thoroughly enjoyable mostly but the literary critical segments sometimes get a little convoluted. Definite pick though.
What a story🥹. What writing 😍.
Imagine if you grew up knowing you were adopted and were told a fiction about the circumstances of your birth.
In your late 40s you get hold of your original birth certificate, and read your biological mother‘s name…famous Australian writer Charmian Clift.
This book was re-released after the author‘s daughter Gina Chick wrote her memoir, We Are The Stars, a book I read and loved in 2024.
Wonderful 🥰🙏👏
